UNDERSTANDING WOMEN
(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)
I know I'm not going to understand women.
I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax,
pour it onto your upper thigh,
rip the hair out by the root,
and still be afraid of a spider.
this is apropos for today because i just had a 4 1/2 hour waxing appointment today with erika (hairstylist/waxer). that's not a fun session, okay? granted, i'm used to it, but 4 1/2 hours of ripping hair out of one's body? yeah, try it sometime. and they say that straight men are the strong ones. hardly! the things we do to be beautiful...
other than that, things continue apace. today's word, btw, was histrionic, which is from the latin root "histrion", meaning, "an actor", so that when someone is doing something histrionic (ie: me), they are being overly-dramatic (ie: like an actor). i found that also very apropos.
