this is killing me! (aha! I made a funny, but you don't get it yet...)
So thanks to my trusty Rolling Stone, I've started listening to this band, The Kills (haha! get it now? I'm so clever...)
and I like them. In that weird "hmm this music kinda bugs me, but I like this song. I don't understand. ...wait wait! I wanna listen to it again!" kinda way.
(also, finding bands from Rolling Stone takes all the fun out of liking bands that aren't popular (and not in an indier-than-thou kinda way. I've just always been anti-popular stuff. but that's beside the point.)
The point is, the lead singer, VV or Alison Mosshart sounds eerily familiar, especially in the first few lines of the song "at the back of the shell." but I can't match it. She's kinda like Pat Benatar meets Joan Jett's grit, but that doesn't do her voice justice. and it puts a stereotype to it that is untrue. RRRGH!
dammit. and I can't find it anywhere to link. If anyone's curious, let me know and I'll sendspace it. I'm interested in input.
