This film is extremely hard to find and see. I've been looking for it for about twenty years or so. I saw it was going to be on TV a few weeks ago, so had the DVR set for it. I've been saving it for today. It's pretty much acknowledged now that apart from a major role in the movie Orson Welles was director, producer and screenwriter. He also did some overdubs. It has all the hallmarks of a Welles movie, right down to the convoluted script. He even got
Dolores del Río, his girl at the time, into the movie. It's a really flawed film, as most of the post Kane movies are, but still genius, and I'm really glad I got to finally see it! I wish Criterion would put out a nice edition!
