I'm sitting here waiting for a woman to come in so I can interview her about the household members program. She was on the negotiating committee for the AAUP. I'm nervous and dreading the interview.
Thought of a new potential job; I want to be Speaker of the Canadian House of Commons.
I would live here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Farm_%28Canada%29 Granted, I have to become a member of Parliament first, so I need to start doing research on the best way to go about that. Canadian politics, here I come!
When I am chosen:
"The winner is escorted to the Speaker's chair by the Prime Minister and Leader of the Official Opposition. The newly elected Speaker, by tradition, feigns reluctance as he or she is "dragged" to the chair in a practice dating from the days when British Speakers risked execution if the news they reported to the King was displeasing" (Wikipedia).
It would also be my duty to act as a liaison between the Senate and the Crown. And when people are fighting and not supposed to address each other, they will address me.
In the meantime, I think I'll regularly start watching cbc.ca and cpac.ca (the Canadian C-span)
Wish me luck. In other news, I just ate two donuts from the Northville cider mill and may or may not have also eaten a chocolate chip cookie.
I need to work out tonight.
