Hermits have no peer pressure

The weekend came faster than I thought. Fantastically enough, I managed to finish most of my work due this week beforehand so it wasn't as bad as some of the previous weeks. I also finally made up all the tests I had missed while I had been sick earlier this month so that's just a huge weight off my shoulders.

Also, I'm totally indulging in my Arthurian Legends phase. I have been scourging the library for all the books, recent and old, written on and about the Tales and have managed even to get some of the earliest text, the closets to the original stories. To be honest, I had expected to choke on my own boredom before I started immersing myself in the yellowing pages that haven't been touched since probably the early 1900s (one of the books I had to physically yank off the shelf in a feat of much heroic beastliness since it had somehow stuck to the dusty wood via an odd food stain). But surprisingly, I find them terribly engrossing. This of course, might be because I am highly biased towards the 2004 movie re-telling (and their beautiful, beautiful people. Oh yum. Which explains the icon) but regardless, I still find myself enjoying these classic fantastical tales.

I actually spent most of today (Senior Cut Day) chatting with my AP English teacher about how best to teach Arthurian Legends, at what grade level, which version, etc. It was very engrossing and I was filling her in on several of the characters and backstories that I had recently been shoveling down like a freaking literary meat processor. Another AP English teacher walked in and was highly impressed after hearing me ramble on about Arthur and his Knights. (He said something along the lines of: "Do you know how few people your age know what you know?") It was flattering but encouraging too. It makes me feel like my seemingly random and bizarre obsessions are not entirely all for naught, haha. FANDOM HAS LIFE-LONG MERIT, GUYS.

So tomorrow I'll be heading into the city to attempt to pick up my new laptop (a smaller one, as a digital notebook for me to use at the university, around campus. One that won't dislocate my spine after having me lug it around for a few hours). It's a pretty nasty brawl between the Sony Vaio and the Apple Macbook but we'll see how it goes. Planning most likely to either eat lunch and then shop around for a while before coming home. I might get lost. Call me, loves.

On another note, diamondsparks, the Arthur to my Lancelot (OUR LOVE IS SO FANTASTIC, GUYS. You don't even know the half of it yet) is pretty awesome stuff. (shyue: So if I'm Lancelot, then who are you? diamondsparks: I can be Arthur.....wait. YOU TOP ME. XD) Just thought the universe should know. ♥ Her sister is apparently Tristan (just because he has a bird...thing. Also less ceremoniously known as "falcon man!") and together her sister made us into some what of a funky hypothetical boyband which is oh-so-creatively named: "Tristan, Lancelot, and That Other One!" If only because at the time, we weren't sure who diamondsparks personified, and, because, sometimes it tends to change and, because, hey - it's hilarious.

That made no sense. And yet, there you see, is the beauty of it all. Ah, bliss.

For those of you I am scaring, let's move on quickly.

Also, I got a very pretty red cocktail dress today at the mall. I look fabulous. But that's nothing new.
