Jane's 22nd Bday
Friday Nov. 19th.
I couldn't decide on an outfit, so I dug through my closet (which is littered with clean clothing). Finally found a knit lime green vee-top and a white under-tee. So I wore that along with just plain dark blue jeans and brought a black zip-up hoodsweater, since I'd be out all day.
Left the house around 12pm, took the 5 to Janes. Picked Jane up, and then we debated about which resturant to get lunch at. I wanted to get Pho, but since she'd already eatten that a few days ago, she wasn't interested, so we decided on Denny's. Her first experience there. *nods* Went to the one in Alhambra. Ordered a lot of food.. too much actually. She ordered clam chowder, and then country fried steak. I ordered grilled chicken sandwich, and along with that I got a sampler for both of us to share. We didn't finish even half of that. Got to-go boxes and had the check when along came Stacey, Jasmine and Helen. Stace got me 10% off, so instead of paying $34 +, I only paid $28 with tip.
We then went to the Alhambra library, I wanted to find out of my card still worked. They have a pretty good selection of books there, a whole wall for just regency. :D I borrowed 'Summer Light' by Luanne Rice, and Jane bought two books from the little library bookstore.
Afterwards, we headed to Ross, the whole point of the trip was so that I'd find some clothes for myself. I need some business-y clothes. Finally settled on a black dresspants with pink vertical strips and a white button down dress shirt with black vertical strips. Very business looking. :) I'll have to go back and see if I can find more dress shirts and also to buy a pair of plain black slacks.
We weren't suppose to leave for dinner at the Macaroni Grill in Burbank til 7pm, so I just hung out at Janes and started on my book. Sandy came along to pick us up and we headed to Burbank. Jane hadn't called for reservations so we had to wait for a table to be open. Everyone was suppose to be at the resturant at 8pm, but there was traffic and everyone else was late.
We got to the table, and there were crayons for the diners to use. I drew a cake and wrote 'Happy 22nd Bday Jane' on the paper, as well as some hearts and butterflies, with lots of arrows pointing to where Jane sat. :)
Judy was the next to arrive, then came Van and her bf Jack, then Frances, Ann and Kitty, and then Ratany, with two other girls. I think it was fun, just mostly chatting and laughing. Our waiter was very understanding, and helpful. I believe his name was Daniel. Jane opened her bday gifts and there were pictures taken. We told Daniel that it was Janes Bday, so he brought over a chocolate cake with a candle on it, and another waiter sang Happy Bday in Italian. :) It was very festive.
We all split up after dinner, the check was for $130+ plus $18 tip, not that bad considering all the people we had. We were suppose to go to D&B (Dave&Busters) afterwards, but Sandy was tired, some others wanted to go see a movie instead, and some others had homework.. etc. Sandy dropped Jane and I off, and we headed to D&B ourselves.. its in Arcadia, same place as the mall.. its new. I've never been into the newer part of the mall til that night. Susan was suppose to meet us there, we didn't see her outside the doors, so Jane kept calling her, finally reached her and found out that she was with her sister at some lounge. Pretty sad for Jane, since she wanted to get piss-ass drunk on Friday but wasn't able to. I'm not good company for getting drunk, since I don't encourage it.
I dropped Jane off at Vans home, since she's staying over there, and then I just headed home myself. Winnie called me on the next day I believe and asked which cartoon character was Janes fave. She was going to buy a balloon and take it to Janes to make up for not going to dinner with us, and for bailing on going to D&B.
It was a very eventful day, I was out for like 12 hours. o.0
Tomorrow is Tuesday, and I have written test to see if I qualify as Library Aide I. I'm somewhat nervous. =/ Its a now or never kind of thing. :P
