Halloween Eve... Pumpkin Patch
Sandy picked Jane and I up at Janes house, I dropped off the car there, since the street in front of Sandy's doesn't really have much parking spaces.
Once Gwen, Isabella and Long came, we headed off.
Ann and Kitty were going to meet us at Riley's Farm its has a apple orchard and a pumpkin patch. The workers there dressed up in colonial costumes :) *very* neat. They have great jams in their general store. We walked pass a horse corral thing where little kids could ride the horses, .. headed to the pumpkin patch.. it was huge.. I picked out two that I later bought, .40 cents/pound I paid probably $3.28. Both of the ones that I bought were green. :)
Jane and I hadn't eaten anything as yet, so while the rest of the group went off on the tour, Jane and I ordered Chicken pot pies for a late lunch. The tour was about apple cider making, and it went around the patch and orchard.. at the end of it, they got apple crisps to eat and caramel apple. The tour lasted an hour, and by that time it was 5pm already.. and Susanna bought a 12 dollar bag, so that she could go apple picking.. it wasn't that big of a orchard. Took a while to fill up the bag, even with two people using the poles and a bunch of us inspecting the apples.
There were a few tree trunks that were hollowed out, so it was like a little basket/hole.. Sandy threw one of the apples she picked from the littered ground.. it missed. I tried a few times.. and missed also.. then I threw again and BAM.. it smacked right into the center of the hole. :P Gave it up for a while to help finish picking and while we were leaving and picked another apple from the ground and threw it.. and SMACK.. it hit the top of the hole, and fell right in. :D I feel really accomplished. ;)
Afterwards, it was getting late, Kitty and Ann left to go home, and the rest of us drove back (1 hour or so) to Sandy's. Sandy, Susanna, Jane and I went to pick up pizza at dominoes. We had a Carving Party. :P Margaritas and knifes don't really mix, so its a good thing that we had protected knifes. :P I carved two things.. sloth and furwitch.. both from Neopets.com
