Today was the first day of the day I found five dollars.
Pope just came into my dorm room, touched my knee, and finished that sentence for me after the first "day." I think it proper to give him credit for his life-altering half sentence.
Anyways, as I was saying, today was the first day of spring quarter and it was a marvelous first day in a number of ways. The weather was glorious and my first class was not until ten-uhmayziiing. I did, however, interrupt my sleep by getting up at seven this morning and walking with Nickel to get a parking pass. I came back to the room, dropped my pants, and hopped back into bed for another hour before I got up and got ready to embark on spring quarter.
Topics in Math was my first class and was the only class I originally didn't know anybody in; however, I got to class and I knew a million people which was basically awesome. There was a girl with an afro and I thought to myself about how jealous I was. My professor seems like he will be a character and I'm not too worried about the class-it seems like it will be relatively undemanding.
History was my next class and I was okay with it. Yonatan Eyal had his freak out moment when people started messing with book bags and rustling papers. Love those freak outs.
From History I made my way back to Daniel's where I worked on my paper for the RA class that I start tomorrow. The paper must be at least four pages long and mine is about 2/3 of the way complete and I am somewhere on the third page.
French class is going to be wonderful, I can just tell. I know virtually everyone in the class because we all took it together last year, we are like a family and I love it.
I love my English professor already. She is the oldest English teacher that I have had in my entire life and she is hilarious. Today we talked about the kinds of writing we had done in high school and the books we had read. Class did open with her talking about seeing a gay man's breast implants, however. That, my friends, is a good sign. When our professor was reading off the names of those in the class checking her pronunciation, she called my name and a relatively attractive boy in my class turned to me and said, "That's a really cool last name." I love stuff like that. I basically decided that when I get married, my husband is taking my last name unless he has a cooler one (which he won't).
My last class of the day, How Life Works, is with Bri and I think I am going to like it. I have always like Biology, and my professor had a cool sense of humor and I am anticipating good times.
I am currently having a wonderful discussion with my lovely, lovely, lovely friend Gina. She will be here with my other lovely, lovely, lovely friend Taylor on Friday. I am elated beyond recognition.
I am going to sit on the hill with Bri and Lisa to take nighttime pictures by the large, light changing tower...thing.
I abandoned my post for several hours to go sit outside on the hill by the light changing thing with Lisa and Bri (as previously stated) and it was so much fun. We thought about star gazing but there were hardly any stars that we could see so we goofed off while practicing narcissism by taking far too many pictures of ourselves. Lisa ended up taking off her pants and running around Sigma Sigma commons in her panties while I chased after her trying to hold her still so Bri could get a shot of her majestic behind. Josh, Dan, and Trent joined us for a little while but eventually left to go to the gas station for whatever they needed from the gas station. Bri, Lisa, and I stayed on the hill until nearly midnight.
Actually, now that I think about it, Trent didn't join our soirée until we had been on the hill for some time. Trent had called Josh to find out our location and, although we were situated on the hill, Josh told him that we were sitting in the open spot under the tower where there were people, just not us. Trent walked right past us to those sitting under the tower; to be totally honest it was one of the most hilarious events of the day.
Bri and I ventured back to Daniel's where we saw some friends sitting outside. I said hello to Chris, Ashley, and John and made my way up to the third floor with Chris because he and his friend Devin had won me a present from a claw machine when he was home for spring break; I left his room having seen half naked women and with a new green teddy bear named Kevin (a cross between Devin and Chris). I made my way up three flights of stairs in leaps and bounds and met Bri, Alyssa, Josh, and Aaron in the [in]famous 604. There was talk of going to the store to get Josh fish but in the end only Bri ended up going with the boys.
Now Alyssa and I are left in 604 to fend for ourselves. Melinda is nowhere to be found--I feel like she is so mysterious--she is always out and about with someone doing something. I do love her though.
Tomorrow Alyssa, Josh, and I are going to walk (weather permitting) to the post office and to the public library because I have to mail some things and Alyssa (nerd showing) wants to check out the library, which, in all honesty, I am totally okay with. I miss the library.
