Merlinian drabbles
disclaimer: characters reproduced from BBC reproduction of characters from Arthurian legend
warning: some het, some slash, some angst. All probably lame.
1.Arthur looked at the figure sleeping next to him: brilliant blue eyes hidden behind lids shaded grey by moonlight, contagiously goofy smile transformed into slackly open mouth with a drop of night drool, unchecked laughter replaced by rasping snores, and realised he wanted to watch Merlin's face every day for the rest of his life.
2.Merlin listened to the conflicting tempo of two hearts drumming and looked from Gwen to Arthur.
This music wasn't right.
The faster, softer song had the rhythm of Gwen's heart but not the melody of Arthur's.
He listened then to Lancelot's and his own heart skipped a beat...

Merlin looked again at the Celtic knot banded around his finger.
Gold, like the fire in his eyes.
Gold, like his husband's hair.
4.
Morgana gasped as her throat closed.
don't turn away from me Merlin
tears managed to fall while her chest ached
look at me please
it was more than her lungs burning
I need you to hold me
it was her heart breaking

Merlin gasped as his breath hitched.
I can't watch you suffer
tears fell as his chest tightened
I can't watch you die
it was more than guilt at what he had to do
I can't let you die alone
his heart splintered as he turned to her
