[He's been resting on the couch in order to give Kaiba his room back, but as soon as he hears the commotion he makes his way (slowly) to the brunet's room. There's a knock on the door before he lets himself in anyway with a soft expression. Neutral. No smile. But there's obvious gladness in his eyes.]

[Well...Rukia probably wouldn't have bothered knocking. So Kaiba wasn't completely surprised when it was Atem who slipped into the room.]

[He shifts to lie back a little bit again out of necessity. Whatever had been put on the gash in his side stung.]

[He smiles a little wider.] I suppose you would have been disappointed if I'd come to get you. As obvious as the bait was... [His hands lace together on his lap and he looks down at them]

That would have been more foolish than anything I had done. [He shakes his head.] I told Cissnei to just throw me off the roof. But...she's too far gone, it seems.

They did not break me, and they did not kill anyone using me as bait. It worked out as well as it possibly could have.

Not good enough yet, but I'm getting there. [He looks back up to gaze at Seto.] You just worry about getting better, don't worry so much about me.
