That's it, I'm hooked

Okay, I've gotten sucked into a summer show on USA network. In Plain Sight

It's got so much that I love. A cool, kick-ass female lead, Mary (who reminds me of surreallis), who's a US Marshall working in the Witness Protection Program in Albuquerque. Her partner is a semi-dorky guy named Marshal and we all know how easily I fall for tall, skinny dorky guys. Marshall is incredibly dry and just a little strange. He's also a font of useless trivia.

Last week was the first episode I watched and I went back and watched the Pilot on the USA website. But this week, the third episode, they really seemed to hit their stride. Some of the lines were just hilarious. And then there was the short scene with Marshal practicing his mambo in the office only to have his boss, Sam, who's about half Marshall's height grabbing Marshall and showing him how to *really* mambo. Mary eventually covers her eyes. Later, Mary brings in a hideous bridesmaid's dress and lays it on Marshal's desk while she talks to him. A moment later, Sam enters the office and behind Marshal's back, gestures at Marshal. Mary gives a tiny nod indicating that the dress is Marshal's. Bwah! There were actually all kinds of humorous little bits here and there.

There's also a bit of angst. Mary's family is nuts and they can't know what she actually does.

Finally, it had one of the most honest lines I've ever heard spoken on serial television. Mary messes up Marshal and sort of kisses him to make it look like they were making out. But after just a moment, Marshal sort of grabs her and kisses her like he really means it. They go off and bust the bad guys and afterwards Mary asks him what that kiss was about. After a bit of banter, Marshal just shrugs and says, "Hey, I'm a guy!" LOL! And so true.

This show is going on my Tivo.

Also, I found a great glass topped patio table on craigslist for $20. It was on the other end of town, but I figured it was worth it. And I needed to get out of the house. When I got there, the people were really, really nice. They knocked $5 off because they hadn't realized that it wobbles just a little. And loaded it into my truck for me. I haven't unloaded it, but I feel so much better for having gotten out and gone on a drive.

My back is doing really well now. Here's hoping that I'm able to sleep tonight.
