I thoroughly loved Atlantis last night. A lot of people have recapped the ep, etc, better than I can.
Suffice to say that I pretty much loved everything - even the whole SuperShep stuff. I just figured that the other team took out a LOT of the bastards before they became Wraith food. Because they were Marines and very good at their jobs. Shep was pretty much just batting cleanup there. That's my story and I'm stickin' with it :)
Yeah, yeah, I know that it wasn't ALL that suspenseful regarding Shep's potential death. What I was waiting to see was not whether he was dead or not, but *how* he managed to survive.
Loved seeing Teal'c again and he was just awesome. His hair is... something else. Kind of cool, but with a little dose of WTF? Because dude, that hair takes a *lot* of work! And product. Not that Teal'c is opposed to that kind of thing, what with his early fetish with cosmetics, but wow.
The end, with Ronon messing with John to wake him up was, um, cute. Loved Ronon's smile and John's "I almost shot myself with a stunner!" I can imagine John getting fed up with the scientists' bickering. And while I find Kavanaugh big-time annoying, I'm glad they didn't kill him off. He lives to annoy another day :)
redial_the_gate was loads of fun, as always. I let slip that Daniel Jackson says, "Who are you?" whenever I get a text message and a number of people were interested in custom stuff for their cell phones.
I have investigated and it's actually not all that easy to just put stuff up there for you all to grab. However, it's still totally do-able, it'll just take a bit more effort on your part, but I'm happy to help however I can. I think they've changed the site a bit since the last time I used it. You used to be able to make the stuff you've uploaded available to others, but I'm not seeing that option now. Also, your stuff will only remain available on your account for about six days or so. After that, you'll have to re-upload it.
Go here to create your Myxertones account. No worries. I've never had a problem with them. It's completely free and I've never been asked for any kind of payment information. As near as I can tell, I've never received spam from them, either. Do watch for popups for pay ring tone sites. I think I remember triggering one of those. If it asks for a pay subscription, it's not Myxertones.
T-Mobile, my carrier, has never charged me for these downloads either. However, I pay for what they call 'T-zones' access, which is a type of internet access. You *could* potentially be charged for internet access, but the files are really quite small, so it doesn't take long. I think most carriers charge by the megabyte and the tones I downloaded are like 24 kb. The pictures I downloaded are only 16 kb each on my phone.
Once you're registered, you can upload virtually anything for ring tones or wallpapers. This is where I ran into trouble trying to make stuff available to everyone. I can really only do that by making an Artist account and that's really only for original stuff. I don't think I should really upload a bunch of Stargate sound files for that.
I got all my Stargate sound clips from
here, the Stargatefan site. Just download the ones you want and then upload them to your Myxer account. From there you can send them to your phone or edit them a bit first. You'll receive a text message on your phone. Select the link in the text message, follow the instructions and the sound will download to your phone. Go to the 'Tones' menu (what that's called will probably vary depending on your brand of cell phone. I've always had Nokias) and choose the new sound as the tone for whatever action you're selecting.
Pictures will be automatically resized for your phone's screen. There is a nice aerial view of Atlantis available on Myxer. Just type 'Atlantis' in the search box and it'll come up. You can select to download it. Searching 'Stargate' pulls up a few things, but nothing I found all that exciting. You might find something interesting by searching on the actor or character names, since I never tried that.
I'll be happy to help in anyway I can. Just drop me an email.
I Netflixed Stark Raving Mad for Kavan Smith and watched it this morning. It wasn't as horrible as I anticipated, actually. Kavan's part wasn't all that big, but it was decent. If he just hadn't worn those silly goggles on his forehead the whole time. No idea what that was about. Pretty typical buddy/heist flick with a good dose of humor thrown in.
I have the last Season 1 disk of Dexter to watch, too. I know, I should be writing, damn it, but the muse is MIA right now. I hate that, especially because I'm under the gun right now and mornings are usually good for me. Bleh.
For anyone following Jericho, you can
go here to watch full episodes on your computer. They're a little herky-jerky on my computer, but my computer is lame, even if my broadband isn't. Or Sci-fi is playing it on Monday nights if you want the full experience. I'm the impatient type.
Now, I'm going to go to Total Beverage and try some of their new Australian vodkas, made from wine grapes. Sounds interesting and they're not insanely expensive. I can't drink gin anymore (makes me nuts the next day), so I'm looking for something new and different.
