The Hell?
I got some Chinese food last night and what did my fortune say?
"It's over your head now. Time to get professional help."
What the fuck kind of fortune is that? I'm paranoid enough, thank you very much - I didn't *need* that! I've heard of funny fortunes and dirty fortunes and well, all *kinds* of fortunes except this kind. What kind is this? Snarky fortunes? 'Freak Out Your Customers' fortunes?
Geez, see if I ever get food from that place again.
On a much happier note, I met Abyssinia4077 for breakfast yesterday and had a lovely time chatting with her. I was happy all day long until I got the Fortune Cookie of DOOOOOM!
So I turned on the Gene Simmons Family Jewels marathon on A&E and curled up on my couch for the rest of the night. That show is dangerously addictive for me. I was never that big a KISS fan, but the whole family cracks me up. And Gene is basically this sort of crochety old Jewish guy, which totally doesn't fit with the whole 'Rock Demon' image. BUT he's a big enough guy to laugh at himself and be the straight man for his kids and Shannon, his not-wife. I especially love his son, Nick, who's a super-tall sort of geeky kid with a razor sharp wit. Nick claims his tongue is longer than Gene's :-) He stuck it out, too, but I'd have to see them side by side to judge fairly.
The big systems changeover happened today at work and it was a big non-event. Someone, somewhere forgot to run a process to bring the invoices into Oracle, so there was nothing to do. Well, we have other stuff to do, but we couldn't do anything with Oracle. It's going to be a loooong week.
I'm actually thinking of taking the last part of Halloween week off. I still have vacation to burn and I figure I'll need some time off by then. I'll have to check it out with my boss. Usually the last and first weeks of a month are less hectic.
Okay, I'm going to go veg now for a bit.
