I'll start with my thoughts on the Gates before moving on to muttering to myself :)
I want to thank everyone for not spoiling me for this ep! Yay! I knew nothing about who was going to be in it, so it was a treat to watch it unfold.

I am muchly in agreement with McKay and the glasses. I *loved* that he called her on lying to him about he McKay in her universe, then made that priceless face and agreed to help her anyway. I don't really watch SGA, so I have no idea if this was IC for him or not, but given the McKay that I'm familiar with from SG-1, this just made me giggle.
Plus, Lee! Always good for a grin.
LOL about Cam and the Geek!Daniel hair...I made the same connection. And I can get past the politics, but you know what distracted me? The moon. Seriously. If you shift the ENTIRE PLANET out of phase, what happens to the moon? There's no more gravitational pull to keep it in orbit. So, what? It crashes into Venus? I hate that this kept me occupied during every single commercial break. :D That, and thinking that the Ori didn't give up when a building vanished in front of them - you really think they'll turn around a go home when they lost a whole friggin' planet? Uh, no. That planet is in for a whole world of hurt now that Sam's gone. Plus, some very messed up tidal patterns.
And now I have the adorable image of a morose Cam, munching on a macaroon while staring at an empty room. Poor Cam! I'm sure Gram never warned him there'd be days like this...

I can understand that. I'm not the huge Sam fan that you and surrealphantast are, but I can certainly see where you have reason to complain. She and I both feel that her character's been given new life in these eps in the second half of S10. She's *very* kick ass and not apologizing for it, which I adore. It feels like she's dealt with her own demons and is much more actualized because of it. Because yes, the Sam of the last couple of eps really rocks! Yay! Here's to more of the same!

I honestly have no idea how to answer this, other than to say that I adore the McKay from SG1-verse and am not so wild about the Atlantis-verse Rodney. It sometimes feels to me like TPTB are pushing the character too hard because of his huge popularity in the Atlantis-verse. I dunno. I just know that 90% of the SGA fic out there involves Rodney in one way or another. And he doesn't really engage me so much that way :/ I think Rodney plays better as an underdog than as a rather revered member of SGA. But that's just me. Trust me, there are a *massive* number of Rodney fans in any form you can imagine.
I'm always thrilled to see Dr. Lee. I really am. In retrospect, it sort of makes me wonder what kind of actor it takes to play that kind of character. Recurring, almost never in the limelight, but someone who adds *so* much to a little scene. I think it's a real talent. A real talent for physical acting, since he doesn't always get a lot of lines. So many times it's just his *presence* that supplies the comedy. Like in this ep!
And Hmm... the moon. You know, I hadn't actually thought about that at all. I guess I just sort of assumed that the moon would be in some kind of 'normal' rotation. I have no idea if the whole 'getting sucked in to an Alternate Universe' thing has any impact on cosmic positioning. Which is an interesting idea. Perhaps we only have access to those AUs that are in close relative proximity to our own cosmic position?
Okay, you're making me wax geektastic here... and forgive me for inserting just a touch of Dresden-verse in here. But perhaps it depends somewhat on how much energy is involved in crossing the AUs. For example, the Black!SG1 team in Ripple Effect used a nuke to cross AUs, so perhaps they were able to venture further from their own 'universe', so to speak. Using the Mirror Device sort of takes care of all that for you, opening up virtually *all* the AUs, but aside from that, it sort of depends on how much energy you use to get there.
I dunno... it's interesting to speculate, though :)
And yes! I want a fic about Cam sitting in Sam's empty lab, munching on Macaroons and angsting about his time with SG-1. Someone write that and I'll write a ficlet for you! Seriously! Just give me a prompt and I'll be off to the races.

Do I get to pick my ficlet subject? 'Cos I have *ideas*......
