I didn't figure myself for one of those sappy types who uses song lyrics to express their ideas... oh, who am I kidding? I'm totally that type, at least when it comes to journaling. In english class, actually, I think I made a decent effort to try my hand at original thought. But I was always better at analyzing than I was at creating ( Read more... )

Shutterbud! We picked the same format and colors for our journals. Maybe I'll go change mine now... I'm not exactly new to LJ, but this particular journal is new. So...hi!

Hiya, petal-head! Don't worry about changing your format/color - I like to be like everyone else. Oh, and I'll probably change mine again soon enough. I was just experimenting until I found a combo that didn't give me a headache.

And why didn't you friend me? I'm friending you! So there. hmph.

You go to the user's profile (the info you can get to by clicking the little person icon next to their name). In there, there's a short little blue bar in the middle of the screen. Click the button on the left, the little person icon with a + sign. It will ask if you want to add the person as a friend; click the button. Now, when you want to catch up on people's entries, you just click your "friends" link, and everyone's most recent entries will show up. Also, you can lock entries so that only people on your flist can read them (that way, if your mom stumbles upon this one, she can't read those entries).

It's easy-peasy. Just go to someone's profile page, and centered at the top, above their user name, are a series of square buttons, highlighted by a light blue box. Click on the one on the far left that is a little LJ head with a "plus" sign. It will ask you if you really want to friend that person (because it's introverted, maybe), so you click "yes" or whatever, then, voila! A new friend has been... friended.
