Let the next life off the hook
I didn't figure myself for one of those sappy types who uses song lyrics to express their ideas... oh, who am I kidding? I'm totally that type, at least when it comes to journaling. In english class, actually, I think I made a decent effort to try my hand at original thought. But I was always better at analyzing than I was at creating.
So although laziness will likely often prevail here, I was definitely not the girl in your poetry class cribbing from the latest girl power singer/songwriter. Especially not Jewel. No siree, I never liked Jewel's "poetry".
On that note, a little snippet of what's in my head right now, courtesy of the Indigo Girls, and a recent TWoP VM:MMM brief discussion of college a cappella groups:
And then you had to bring up reincarnation
over a couple of beers the other night
and now I'm serving time for mistakes
made by another in another lifetime
