County fairs were some of America’s favorite places to go in his country. Some qualities of a county fair were similar in any county fair. Things like popcorn, hot dogs, and of course, hamburgers. But each region, each state, each town added its own flavors, its own traditions.
Their own smells.
America made a point to arrive at the beginning of each one he could attend and staying until the last stall closed. He stayed to enjoys the sights and the smells. He enjoyed the smell of fish fry in the Midwest. He enjoyed the citrus scents in Florida. America enjoyed the bouquet of the wines in the California valley. He enjoyed the fresh mountain breezes that blew between the booths in the Rockies. Each region had its own flavor, and its own smell.
