Rainy season with no rain...
It's been the rainy season since the beginning of June, but out of these 17 days, it has rained maybe 3 times. Sorta weird... but anywho!
So I've been thinking further about my new career choice. Mostly the education I'll need to get there. I was thinking of maybe trying to go to OSU for their East Asian Studies Master's program and focus of Women's studies in Japan (who gets to write their thesis paper in Japanese? whoo!). Then after that I want to come back to Asia for my PhD (which I will probably go the research dissertation route) focusing on Homosexuality in Asia (concerning historical and current issues). I was thinking about different universities to go to... Hong Kong, Taiwan... but then I settled on trying to go to Singapore!
Why Singapore? Well, the National University of Singapore is one of the better universities in Asia and they have a really good program for me to enter. Also, so many different kinds of people live in Singapore (chinese, indian, malaysian, indonesean...), so unlike going to a university in somewhere like Hong Kong or Japan (where most people are the countries' nationality), I have the opportunity to get perspectives from a bunch of different kinds of people from various Asian countries/cultures.
I know that I'm doing a HELL of a lot of planning right now and I know I haven't even started my senior year at BG yet. But I want to set goals for myself.. I want something to strive and work hard for. Come this August, I'm going to start BUSTING MY ASS! (I gotta say though, the amount of work I'm going to do within the next few years in really intimidating..)
