Ah, I forgot all about this quill- such a luxury i'm not used to. I suppose I should make better use of it though ( Read more... )

A cat in the well? That's beyond disgusting. Don't they have people to keep an eye on the water supplies?

And good luck with the fever patients. My father was talking about it the other night and didn't like how quickly the symptoms came on and how easily it seemed to move from one family member to the next. Do make sure to take precautions mystery doctor~

Normally the neighbourhood is sort of... self-policing? And there's usually someone with half an eye on the well to make sure no one steals the milk so we can only guess some drunk lobbed it in in the dead of night.

I'm taking precautions. I do anyway, but I suppose the heat is aggravating this round of fever.

Steal the milk? Why is there milk in the well?

That's good. It'd be horrible for the doctor to come down sick as well. Especially when the heat makes our bodies moree susceptible. I feel like I've been surviving off of ice cream and iced drinks to keep cool lately.

Why, how else would they keep it cool in this hot weather?

I've just been sweating it out, mostly, but I'm fairly certain that as long as you mind you drink enough and have enough salts, sweating isn't so unhealthy.

In the ice box?

I don't think sweating is unhealthy, but it certainly doesn't feel nor look nice.

... no one has an icebox here.

... but how do they keep things cold? Surely everything can't go into the well.

I'm... not sure what you mean.

How do they keep all the meats and exotic fruits fresh? And what about ice cream?

Yuushi-san....... Most people here only eat meat once a week, if that. There's no exotic fruit or ice-cream.

What do they live off of? Surely such a poor diet can't be healthy.

It isn't, but there's not really much of a choice. Then again, i'm not sure icecream is exactly healthy either.

There's fruit in it and it's mostly cream. That has to be perfectly healthy, right? Certainly better than the tarts everyone says I'm addicted to.

They should try finding an empty local plot and grow vegetables there. If they can have a communal well, why not a vegetable garden.

Cream is fattening and it has a lot of sugar so really, no, it's not very good for you...

That would be nice. I know some families keep chickens on the rooftops, but there's not really any room for a garden.

Shhh don't be a spoil sport.

What about planters on rooftops?

mm, possibly. I'm not sure it would work though. The water supply is difficult.
