A Knight in Shining Armor

So. I slept all day Thursday catching up on all that sleep I missed from the week before, and I really didn't want to sleep that long. I wake up, and Mark is already home from work. We start dinner, for me, I guess it's breakfast, and we have some TV we need to catch up on. We get settled in the living room, and I actually start to get a little sleepy. After missing His response to a text msg I had sent I realize I had the ringer turned off on my phone. I am such a moron. It's too late though, and he's gone to bed.

I am up all night. I listen to the Isles game from earlier (they lose, poor bastards. They gotta stop blowing those leads), and start trying to get my room organized. Not that you can tell now.

He logs in to AIM fairly early. And while the conversation started on a good note, I made a comment that started a slight argument. *cringes* We talked about it, and everything is fine now. What I learned though is I don't like arguing with this one. I felt awful, and posterity compels me to record what was said, my shame and embarrassment would just as soon have me not.

The positive side to the whole thing is, I now have a date to see Harry Potter with him on Monday.

I was really sleepy by the time he left for work, and after making an arrangement to be interviewed for a story about Harry Potter I decide to take a nap until 2 at which time I'll have to get ready for seeing GOF for the second time. 2 hours was not enough sleep, but it has to do. So, I shower, get dressed and leave by 3, and when I hit the 101, traffic is already sluggish by the airport, and it is so slow, I am actually able to text message him about how much I hate driving in the day time. We TM back and forth for a bit, but traffic picks up, and I have to stop again. I get off 101 in Palo Alto trying to find a Whole Foods to get some fruit for the night, and I TM him that I needed directions. (I couldnt find mine, they were in the back seat out of reach) I was on the phone with Mark trying to get directions, when he rings in. Once again, as soon as I say I need help he calls. I tell Mark I'll talk to him later, answer him, and right away he asks "Are you lost?" I wasn't, I just couldn't find what I was looking for, but he is coming to rescue me, so to speak. I have a knight in shining armor!

The whole thing made the drive seem like it only took a few minutes. I arrive at work, and Mark is already waiting for me, but he is going to redo my tie, and I have Mark start moving stuff to his car, while I go inside to find him. I have to wait while he is talking to someone. When he is done he follows me in to our room, and this time, does the tie in front of me. There is something really sexy about watching a man tie his tie. Unfortunately there is no more reason for me to stay, and Mark and I have to get to our friends house anyways.

I had a great time at my friends, Di, the hostess, created a HP game based on Cranium. It was very well done, and my team won. We never missed a question, and after a while, the other teams wanted me to be a rotating player. I was the only one with a full on costume, but Di wore her husbands robes from his PHd graduation, and she looked like she could have been a teacher. I loaned my spare wand and my sorting hat to another of their friends, and we all set out to see the movie. It was a very fun evening. It was late when we got home, but I stayed up long enough to read LJ.

I set my alarm to get up for the interview, but I was so sleepy I managed to set it for 10pm, instead of 10am and overslept again. Mark woke me up at 12. She didn't seem to mind though. While I was on the phone Mark kept coming in and out of the room, and when I hung up reminded me I was taking him to the airport for his flight to New Jersey for the week. That means no Mark, and I am by myself until after Thanksgiving.

I stopped off at Safeway and Trader Joes for food for the next few days. I just finished listening to the Isles win over the Florida Panthers, so go them! They won 3 of 4 road games, and really seem to be coming together. I love hockey. I want to take him to a game, I wish the Sharks were playing a Sun/Mon home game sooner.
