I had one weekend there. I got to see Wicked! which was FABULOUS, and omg tackiest theatre EVER. I tried to take photos but some girls behind us were like 'omg the ushers will beat you to DEATH put it AWAY', and ate at allegedly the oldest Italian restaurant, and spent the next day at the Field Museum and it wasn't enough *cries and cries* I could have spent a week just there. Also, we did the Architecture cruise which I hadn't expected to find particularly interesting but was great.
SO JEALOUS.
Definitely spending more time in Chicago next year.

I know how you feel. I used to be jealous! And now I'm living here!
I have to keep reminding myself that I'm no longer living in a cultural backwater in the middle of nowhere. I mean, the House of Blues is down the street from me right now, and dude, I can go to the Chicago Institute of Art whenever I want, because it's right there.
Now I just have to decide what I'm going to do next month. I like having this kind of problem.

Also I hear first Fridays at MCA are pretty cool if you are into that sort of thing.

I'm actually going to be in Chicago at the end of April for a conference, and this actually seems like something I'd enjoy seeing if I can escape the clutches of my boss (who WILL be attending with me). *sigh*
