the value of an outsiders opinion

Did they really keep pernament records on us throughout our schooling? Or was the concept a media myth?

I am constructing a plan on how to track mine down, if it does indeed exist. A file dedicated to my life. Composed of bits of information about my schoolworks, psycological analyses of 3rd grade drawings and clay sculptures, forgotten occasions of pulling hair and picking fights on the playgoround. No amount of therapy can compare to the amount of insight this intrusive lifelong surveillance could provide.

I never kept diaries very well. If I ever wanted to record something, it was jotted on scarps of discarded papers, napkins, whatever lay around. When i was packing to move to Vancouver I found a diary entry written on a Caramilk wrapper from when I was 9 or 10 or 11 or...

"Dear Diary,
Tonight I went out to see a movie called "Titanic" with mom and Chelsea. It was soooo sad I cried for a really long time at the end. Its based on a true story about all these people sailing on a ship thats supposed to be the best in the world. Until it hits an iceberg and sinks. Almost everybody dies except for a few rich people. And there were two main people in love named Jack and Rose, and they were soul mates. But then when the boat sinks Jack freezes to death and then sinks in the water. I cried so much for them and I'm still crying a bit now."

Well, thats a paraphrase. I don't have the entry nOW.

Though I lament the fact that i never kept a real diary when i was little, it would be simply a recollocation of insignificant moments that i had mindlessly blottered out at some point. I want my damn p.r.

Also, I've recently re-discovered that 1997 Whitetown song "Your Women". I'd say thats one of the more perfect moments in pop history. Sometimes they just hit it.
