Kir notes that all the female birds he gets involved with wind up injuring him somehow. He says it's no wonder that he prefers humans. :|

Speaking of, we totally need to create a situation sometime where Jing is too badly injured to use a Kir Royale, and Kir has to fuse with Kaito instead.

I really need to make some proper scans of a Kir Royale, I just realized I don't have any. Anyway, basically the lower half of Kir's body turns into this . . . um. It's kind of hard to explain, it looks like a spine with bones sticking out to either side (like how the miners' birds are here). The bones clamp around Jing's arm to anchor him there, and Kir changes shape (he didn't do that originally, but we're assuming it's some kind of high-level thing he can do now that he's been working with Jing for so long. Linked it above in the profile). Then Kir essentially opens his mouth and fires a big ball of energy. If there's anything seriously wrong with his throat, he can't fire, and he usually can't do more than four shots max.
