NAME: Jing (the King of Bandits)
AGE: ? (somewhere between 16 and 22, most likely)
HEIGHT: ? (probably somewhere between 5'8" and 6')
WEIGHT: ?
BODY TYPE: Thin and muscularly compact. Jing is constantly travelling, so his body is very durable and he has incredible stamina.
HAIR: Short, black, and spiked
EYES: Gray
NAME: Kir
AGE: exactly ten years younger than Jing (however old he is)
HEIGHT: ? (probably around 2'
on his own, but at least 7' beak-to-tail when
fused with Jing)
WEIGHT: ?
BODY TYPE: Round and cute when on his own; he can manipulate his wing feathers like hands and often does so. When fused with Jing, he becomes large and
armor-like.
EYES: Black
CLOTHING STYLE: Uniform, in the sense that he almost always wears the same thing. Jing is never seen without his trademark orange trenchcoat (bulletproof resistant, of course) -- but even this constant is mutable, as the spiral design on the shoulder always
seems to be constantly changing. Underneath, he typically wears a black tank top and durable black pants, and a many-featured belt that holds a number of odds and ends. His shoes change frequently, but generally look like elaborate high-tops, and fasten with clips and buckles instead of ties.
Kir just wears a red kerchief around his neck, although he occasionally dons costumes for comedic effect. Also, funny hats.
SPEAKING STYLE: Jing and Kir both adore their word play -- not only on each others' words, but those of other people. They'll fit in puns and riddles wherever they can find room for them, and then some (Kir tends to gear towards the puns while Jing veers towards the riddles). Kir's style of speech is more informal than Jing's; he frequently uses slang and slurs his words, and uses bad pickup lines to boot. In contrast, Jing's speech is usually cleaner and more enunciated than his partner's, although it's fairly informal on its own.
DEMEANOR: To sum Jing up in a word, it would be enigmatic. Half the time he seems to be acting on his whims, and the other half it seems that he has almost every single detail of his entire future planned out. He frequently talks in riddles and half-clues, and just as frequently withholds information -- although he does usually give it if it's outright asked for. Half the time he acts incredibly mature for his age, and the other half he acts like an unruly child. His only main constant is his use of improvisation, and his refusal to submit to or heed other people, or let them dictate his actions. He's also very knowledgeable and makes a habit of picking up stories all over the place about people and places; he often knows far more about what's going on than he'll let you know about.
Kir, by contrast, is a very simple individual. He loves girls and treasure, and much as Jing infuriates him sometimes, he's fiercely and unflaggingly loyal to the boy. He's easily confused at times and rather chaotic and flighty, zipping off at a whim to hit on pretty women, indulging in loud and rude outbursts, or refusing to fire a Kir Royale because something Jing said has him miffed. He's the joker of the team, but by no means is he the sidekick. Jing doesn't exclude his partner from anything, and the King of Bandits knows full well that he wouldn't likely be where he is today without Kir by his side.
JOB: Thievery, pure and simple. Jing and Kir steal for their needs, be it food or money -- but they do have principles, vague that they might be. Jing particularly makes a point of not stealing from people who can't afford it. On top of this, the duo is notably affable and often find themselves making acquaintances with people who invite them in/over for meals, although they never truly freeload (they never stick around long enough for that).
BEST QUALITIES: His improvisation. Jing is an expert at improvising in even the worst types of situations, and that skill is essentially what allows him to be the King of Bandits in a world of thieves. On top of that, Jing is free-spirited, strong (both physically and mentally), charming, and is not even remotely phased by the need to break some rules in order to work for the greater good. And he does work for it, even if the people around him don't always recognize it at the time, and even if less-than-desireable consequences come about as a result. He's also easy to talk to, despite his occasional vagaries, and can be quite helpful when he chooses to be.
Kir, for all his skirtchasing, is quite the gentleman for the most part, and is very chivalrous when it comes to women in need. His loyalty and bravery also speak volumes for him as a person -- er, bird -- he's quite willing to take on opponents several times his size, egging them on the whole way, when someone he cares about is threatened.
WORST QUALITIES: Jing's worst quality is, perhaps, his inability to stay pinned down and be responsible for other people -- even when he himself might want to. He never stays in any one place for more than a handful of months, at the most, and he almost never returns to a place he's visited before for any significant amount of time. He's quite used to leaving people behind without a second glance when the job is done, and it can make him seem callous or selfish -- and when you get right down to it, in a way, he is. He also knows that sometimes unpleasant things come about as a result of getting the job done, and combined with his firm belief that he can't be responsible for everyone, he can be impassive when faced with deaths that may directly or indirectly have come about as a result of his actions, making him seem even more heartless.
Kir's worst qualities are his womanizing and his petulance. He can be very immature and irritating as a result, and his lame pickup lines and attempts to get boobsquish hugs and kisses have earned him many a smack. His mouth also tends to get him in over his head when he's not careful.
WEAKNESSES: Smart as he is, Jing doesn't know everything, and even he can be caught off-guard. He will endanger himself for the sake of those he's travelling with, and while he's an excellent fighter, there's always a few opponents that he can't take on with force alone. He's also significantly underpowered if he doesn't have Kir to fight with; Jing can get by on just a blade, but he's come to rely on the Kir Royale as his ace in the hole, and not having it has almost gotten him killed before. Due to his lack of personal ID, he'd also be in big trouble if he ever got into a situation requiring serious medical attention, as nothing -- not even his blood type -- is on any kind of record anywhere. As for worldhopping, the Kefitzat works in such a way that Jing can't use it if he's being directly perceived -- he has to be out of immediate sight of all onlookers (except Kir) in order to successfully worldhop. It only takes a second to actually hop once he's out of sight, but it's still a second he has to gain.
Kir's weakness is primarily his temper. It's led him into dangerous situations before, and has gotten Jing in a sticky spot or two as well. Additionally, he can only fire the Kir Royale when fused to a host -- technically any host will do, but he'll only fuse with someone other than Jing in a dire emergency, and the resulting Kir Royale would be less than optimal unless the host in question really knew what they were doing. Kir also can't fire the Kir Royale if there's anything wrong with his mouth or throat, and he can't fuse to Jing if he has any kind of major injury (or if Jing has a major injury on the arm he uses for fusing).
HOBBIES: Jing's hobbies pretty much tie directly into his banditry -- sleight of hand, exploring, and digging up stories. He's a very curious and restless person, and whenever he has spare time, he invariably spends it wandering around town, poking around places and eavesdropping on people's conversations. He also likes playing with puzzles, particularly of the three-dimensional variety. He's a whiz at even the most difficult kind.
Kir prefers drinks and female company, although he shares his partner's wanderlust and will occasionally accompany Jing on his aimless meandering.
TALENTS: Jing's natural talents include an amazing memory, even more amazing speed and stamina, excellent acrobatics, a sharp mind, and charm that comes as easily as breathing. He's also ambidextrous -- born with a lame right arm, when it was restored to a working limb it became his primary arm for Kir Royale, and he can now use both hands with equal ease.
For learned talents, he has a number of them. Anything to do with banditry, of course, he excels at: lock picking, safe cracking, disguise, voice imitation (although he rarely puts it to use), disarming alarms, silent movement, defying death. He's also skilled at any kind of riddle solving, whether they're logical or of the more esoteric type, be it code cracking or determining the real tale behind a story; he also picks up new languages rather quickly. Lastly, he's very skilled at driving (motorcycles, wagons, trucks, horses), and is amazingly good with a blade -- his weapon of preference being an extendable wrist-mounted blade that retracts into a
rubber-like sheath on his right forearm.
Kir's main (and only) skill, other than a smart mouth and the ability to keep up with Jing, is his ability to fire the Kir Royale. When fused with Jing, he can fire a spherical blast of greenish energy from his mouth, which can cause pretty big explosions under the right circumstances. This ability is typical to his species.
BIOGRAPHY:
RANDOM INFO
Easiest way to get on his good side:
Kir - Have a pretty face and breasts. We have no idea why he prefers human women, but there you go.
Jing - Be intriguing, and/or a person who is capable, independent, and strong-willed. He likes people who can take care of themselves and who he can interact with without being dragged down by them.
Easiest way to get on his bad side:
Kir - Threaten or seriously injure Jing, or, you guessed it, pretty girls. He also dislikes anybody who insults him or his partner.
Jing - Seriously threaten or injure Kir. Be a crazy despot or tyrant.
Favorite person:
Kir - Jing. Kir also has a special place in his little birdy heart for Fino, who's somewhat of a little sister to him and Jing, and Rum, a female bird of Kir's species who he may or may not have actually had feelings for. He was also briefly married to Grenadine's little sister, Sugar. Don't ask.
Jing - Kir, although for a long time it was a tie between Kir and his mother. Jing still holds her very close to his heart and has by no means abandoned his mother complex just yet. He's also fond of Cassis, a childhood friend of his who he hasn't seen for years, and Picon, a spunky young weaver who helped him through Black Velvet.
Favorite people met on the comm:
Kir - All the women. :|
Jing - Kaito, actually, but he has some obvious reasons for being interested in a fellow thief who gives him a challenge. There's a few other people he's keeping an eye on.
Prefers:
Kir - Blonde and busty, but hey, he'll go with just busty if he has to! Or cute. Or gorgeous. Or foxy. Or just attractive female.
Jing - Women, definitely, and ones with strong personalities. Jing is hardly one for commitment, and his flings are brief, so girls who won't be devastated or try to follow when he leaves are typical for him. Speaking of, the harder he's chased, the less likely he is to reciprocate.
PERMISSIONS
Notes for the Psychics: Anything in the biography is fair game. Also, as far as canon reveals, Jing may have some kind of natural resistance to mind control or mind reading (which may or may not be due to sheer force of will): Grappa, some kind of living gold-coin-insect-like-spirit-thing that was capable of controlling men's greed, attempted to take Jing over and make him his slave, and failed utterly in the attempt. And if that doesn't suffice as an explanation as for why there are big gaping holes in his history, you'll just have to deal with the fact that there's a lot of things no one ever knows about Jing. Including his mun.
What's Okay To Mention around Him: Anything! Kir will get grumpy and offended if you insult either his or Jing's reputation or skills, and Jing will become withdrawn if you mention his mother, but pretty much everything goes. Breaking the fourth wall will just result in amusement.
Abilities: Anything associated with high-end banditry (the whole nine yards and maybe another ten on top of that), Kir Royale (so long as Kir is with him), and worldhopping (using the Kefitzat Haderech).
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/slash/etc?: Go for it! Slashing won't do much besides make both Jing and Kir flail, though, so don't expect anything to come out of it.
Maim/Murder/Death: Maiming is fine, as long as it doesn't involve losing any limbs, but no death, please. They have a track record for defying it, and it'd be a shame to break it. |D
Kissing/Hugging/Badtouch: Oh, all the way. Kir especially would be in heaven. Unless you were a guy, in which case hilarity ensues.
