Gravel twists and cracks beneath tires
Taking Interstate South and a heart on fire
Back to where he came; the wheels roll forth
And the one he loves graces the presence of the North.

Headlights are
Cascading against the color of his eyes --
How he wants to stretch his hand from this cage
And grab hold of the lamplight, so
Stationary,
Yet not ripping him farther South.

He prays in desparation for the strength
To see himself back, to increase the length
From himself and the one he loves.

His heart, however, is with her;
His hands are shaking to hold her.
His hope for them is with God.

He smiles, peace is brought about
In the heart of a man who cannot do without
The one he loves.

Always with you, Ben
