How do you go about creating major storylines for your muse? Describe the process, and who you consult.
I like plotting. Plotting is fun, it's just the actual writing that's the hard work. Partly because there are only certain times when you can write, but many times when you can plot: in bed, at work while doing some mindless task, etc. Thinking about plots when driving is less of a good thing, though, because I really ought to concentrate on driving and looking at what's going on around me.
I tend to think about all eventualities. At the moment I really need to get to writing some stuff about Harry moving to Geneva because I've worked out that he does that in February. Their wedding is set for the start of the summer holidays in July and so I've been thinking about what happens to them up to that point. It can go one of two ways depending on which strand I decide upon.
I do need to think about what work Harry is actually doing and I will get to that at some point because I like writing him working.
As for consulting, that's pretty much no one. What I write in prompts doesn't really affect any one else, so there's no need to ask their opinion from that perspective. I might occasionally mention plots to people to float past them, but I don't always follow through with them anyway.
