its been a long time....
So I thought I might try and get back in to this whole LJ crap... last time I did I got in trouble so we shall see how I can fuck it up this time...
Lets talk about this past weekend...
It all started on a cold stormy winter night when MP, Megan Stevenson and myself decided to go on an adventure. The adventure began at Lewis University where MP and MS started their long, grueling treck down to the south side of Chicago. Once they arrived I hoped in the car and it was off to Jewel-Osco for some yummy grub for the long night ahead.
After ariving at Jewel we grabbed a cart and made our way to buy as much crap as possible. We ended up with sour cream and a powder to make dip, salsa, bite size tostitos, ruffles, two bags of gummy worms (sour and regular), a bag of chocolate, cherry lime-ade, two boxes of teddy grahams (chocolage and cinnoman), fruit, three bottles of propel, cups, a 24-pack of Mountain Dew, and some Jewel cookies.
When were finally done shopping MP and I grabbed all the crap and waddled off to MS's car to load up and head out to the studio.
At 11:00 at night MP, MS and I finally arrived at Pressure Point studios with snow in our hair and more food than was ever needed in our arms. We were greated with open arms and amazed looks at much crap we actually brought. It was then that us three girls searched out a menu to obtain more food... a nice large cheese pizza. We finally decided to go to Ricobene's, owned by a friend of MP's, and then just sat around and waited till our food arrived.
I have to say that Pressure Point was a pretty snazzy studio. As you walk in, if you continue to walk straight ahead you arrive at the wonderfully cozy lounge. Then the control room we used was just around the corner and Mike, jamming on his drums, was upstairs but because of a camera set up in his room we could see him. I have to say it was a pretty sweet set up. Then as you walked upstairs there was another control room and then Mike in his little secluded room jamming away. Then, as I found out later... if you walk all the way to the back and up some stairs you arrive at another lounge with a hookah that was as tall, it not taller, than me. It was amesome!!
Overall the night was pretty fucking amazing. It was filled with great stories, great laughs, naked Ahn (hahaha... you think Im joking... oh Im not), and some sleeping. The boys finally wrapped up at about 5:00 am.... after spending most of the later night in the control room with Chris, Scotty, Rae, and Andy I made my back to the lounge where I found Demetre passed out on the floor, like a hamster as Mp put it, and Mike passed out on the couch with a pillow over his face. I then layed down for 10 minutes before I had the lovely task of waking Mike up.... thats a little difficult. Then there was a laugh at Demetre, Mike being a lazy ass and not wanting to get up followed by Mike kicking Demetre to wake up.
After everyone was awake and the gear was loaded in the soccer mom van that, I personally, can not believe is still up and running, we set out to take pictures.
The night ended with a nice ride back to the south side of the city, me showing up at my house late enough to bring the papers inside and then finally making it in bed at about 6:20 and passing out.
Overall it was an amazingly fun night, a great experience and I got to meet Rae DiLeo, who produced Filter and is very talented, super nice and very laid back. It was a great night and I want to again thank the boys from Escape From Earth for letting me tag along.
Other than that I just moved back to school and Im not sure how I feel about it. I was so comfortable at home. I loved living at home yet having no rules to follow. I loved being able to come and go as I please, and yes I understand I can do that here but I dont have a car here... meh... we shall see!!
