The holidays have come to a close and we rounded out the celebrating with Mia's 2nd birthday. It's so hard to believe she's already two. I remember when I brought her home from the hospital. I wouldn't even carry her upstairs until she was nearly five months old, now she's getting herself up and down them by herself. One of her christmasakauh presents was a "big girl" bed and she loves it. Her Daddy is taking her milestones with much more poise and grace than I am. She was awfully confused as to why mommy was all teary eyed when I woke her up on Sunday. My little girl isn't a baby anymore at the end of the day. I wish I could make them stop growing. Sigh.

Speaking of birthdays, I've got to send some birthday props to Burr. One of the coolest things about knowing/dating/being friends with hockey players is watching them grow and succeed. Watching them go from the minors to the big leagues and then gain success there. Imagine my surprise when I got a phone call from Pat last year telling me I'd never guess in a million years who his new roommate was. Irony, irony everywhere. It's hard to believe it was only three years ago I was at UW. To be exact, I actually met Adam over a keg at his 23rd birthday party and things just went their own way from there. It really does seem like a million years ago. And now he's apparently some hard ass in Chicago? That makes me giggle. Like a lot. Kid's not a fighter. That ended pretty quickly after graduation. He had his hockey career and I was going to go back to dancing. Go figure a month later the sound of engines caught my ears and here I am. Last I heard Burr's dating Schremp's sister. (Jesus christ can this world get ANY smaller?) btw, ankle injury. even i know.

So I guess this was just reflecting on how random life can be. Three years ago I was at a random party with a bunch of Badgers drinking way to much...and now i'm drinking tea with my feet in my husband's lap with two very beautiful babies sleeping upstairs. Life may be random, but I sure do love it.
