By the time he wasn't, Narvin didn't know how to treat you any other way. But he tried. He tried to trust you, like a son would a father. You attacked him. Can you see how contradictory that would appear? A father protects his children, attacking them is the exact opposite.

I told him my reasons and he spat on my will and insulted me! No father would let such disrespectful behaviour slide! And I lost my temper when he denied our people's values. I thought the human must have surely used his madness, to make him say such things. May he rot for all I care now. He never deserved that apology.
