Three fantastic woman-centered stories in the Washington Post this morning. It's almost enough to make me proud of my sex for the first time since Paris Hilton arrived on the scene. In combination with Pepsi's new female CEO of color, it's an almost dizzying week for the X chromosome. Huzzah!
#1) Battered woman's monster of a husband originally only receives 8 weeks in jail for his abuse of her. She decides to sue. The court CONSIDERS whether the now ex-husband's defense of "she started it" and "she deserved it" merit the beating; they decide, NO, and award the now ex-wife hundreds of thousands of the monster's dollars.
#2) Female judge hands down ripping 100 page decision on how tobacco companies defrauded the public in a massive conspiracy.
#3) ANOTHER female judge hands the bush administration a major smackdown on its "terrorist surveillance program." That and some snakes on a plane is precisely what our dear leader deserves.
