BALL

I'd have to say this was my favorite dance ever. It's really sad that it's over now. I had a lotta fun. Shane looked really clean-cut and... well, handsome! It was quite a shocker to see him in clothes that actually fit, even if he did put them on wrong the first time lol. And even though he danced the one slow dance we were there for with my sister instead of me, he was still I think the best date I've had... ever lol. Because when we got back to my house and Dee went in, he told me to come over to his car, where he played a slow song in his cd player, and I finally got my dance. That was all I needed. He was so sweet I nearly cried. I think all guys should be like Shane. I'm so glad I got to go with a friend, rather than a boyfriend. Boyfriends depress me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for a really awesome night and one that I will always remember!!!

At the ball itself, the food was okay, but the best part of the night had to be the Merry-Go-Round, that we rode I believe 4 times over the course of the evening. The first time I had to ride in the little hump of the camel. Ouch. And it didn't even go up and down. But after that I had a lotta fun bobbing on the big horses. Yee-haa!!! Another memorable part was the Cotton-Eye Joe song, where we all did the really funky dance Marc taught us. And we occassionally flip-flopped with the real moves. It was so hilarious, people actually started believing we were doing THE Cotton-Eye Joe moves, and before you know it, we had most of the dance floor doing it right along with us. I could not believe it! We're like a cult! Look what you can start when you're doing it in a group and you all pretend you know what you're doing. Amazing.

At the After Ball party, I Sumo-wrestled Kalia and lost. Although I realized after the first 2 times that the reason I could not stop sliding off the mat was because she was barefoot and I had socks on. But it was still fun rolling around in a fat suit and not being able to get up. Plus, I think I nearly brought Sade to tears laughing at me. So I was good for something lol. Then I begged Heather to joust with me, and she gave in, making excuses as to why she was going to lose: "I have bad balance!" Well... she won... really really bad. Lol, but I had expected to walk away with sore limbs and bruises, if I could walk away at all. And I was really fine, so it wasn't as bad as I'd hoped. Then the hypnotist... That is sooo freakin' awesome, I soooo wanna learn how to do that!! Shane was the best Spice Boy! He took center stage and knew all the words!!! I was hysterical!!!!! Except I will admit, being a bit of a worry-wart, I was kind of afraid they wouldn't be normal again for a while when it was done. I dunno why, I just was kinda worried lol. But they seemed fine, at least Shane and Sam did. I can't say as much for Jeff Palmerino lol. But then again, he did have to push out a baby on stage. That, I imagine, must take a lot outta ya.

I didn't win any prizes. Of course. I'm very lucky in that way. But all in all, I'd say it was a very pleasant evening, and I had a terrific time that I wouldn't trade for the world!... or even for some good cheese.

And now if you'll excuse me, I've got an unrealistic chorus concert to go to.
