She had worked very hard to skip grades, to double up, take summer classes, and all of this for the love of her life...to graduate with the love of her life. Charlotte worked so hard to be near Stacey, she took the same classes-the same honors classes as Stacey. She'd always be over at Stacey's getting tutored, to be able to keep up. They were almost sisters, after all.

She'd take trips to see Stacey in New York City, when Stacey was there for the summer, and Charlotte was only able to make it out on the weekends-due to summer school. Those weekdays spent away and unable to see Stacey, were the most unbearable of days for Charlotte, but she was determined she'd graduate and go to the same university with Stacey, perhaps they could register together. Taking the same classes, requesting share the same dorm room together.

Charlotte was amazed at how Stacey could be blind to what was right in front of her. Her almost-sister, had the biggest damn crush on her and it wasn't going away, it was only growing, by the time it was time for Stacey and Charlotte to get their diplomas, Charlotte could no longer classify her feelings for Stacey as anything but love. She was completely and utterly head-over-heels in-love with Stacey and it was killing her.

Except, there was one thing, Stacey didn't seem to feel the same way about her. So, they trekked off together, sharing a dorm room, studying together, sitting together in the same classes. Still nothing seemed to be afforded Charlotte anything but a very almost-sister friendship.

However, they day came when Charlotte's eighteenth birthday rolled around...it occured the first day of their Spring Break of Senior Year at The University of Dartmouth. Stacey had actually talked Charlotte into going to skiing in Vail, Colorado as apposed to going to some beach where every other college student was going to be crowding into. They flew into Boulder, Co. mid-evening and by the time they reached their private, secluded cabin night had falling. Charlotte entered first and her breathe was taking away.

The cabin was small, one room except for the kitchenette and a cozy bathroom, but it had candle-light dancing all around and radiated from the center of the room, where sat a table set for two to have a romantic dinner.

Turning to tell Stacey that they were in the wrong cabin, but was silenced by Stacey's index finger over her lips.

"No, honey we are most defiantly in the right place, my love," Stacey said with sparkles in her eyes that were most certainly not from the candle light.
