Finally I might be in the mood to update again. Even if only for a minute.
I have court to appeal UI bullshit tomorrow. I have a whole stack of letters from EDD detailing when I filed and who I reported my last employers were, and said check stubs from said employers, and an additional hand-written chart of who I worked for when.
I'll be god-damned if this doesn't work.
I ended up landing some spur-of-moment temp work for some IDIOT in Hayward, basically building a fence for/with this guy that knows very little about carpentry, doesn't plan anything ahead of time (important stuff anyway), wants to do everything ass-backwards, gets in the way, etc. Basically the whole thing is completely bonkers and stupid, as well as horribly-underpaying. I thought I was really done taking shit jobs like this in the off-seasons but I was in a real back-against-the-wall situation, having to make rent and all. Anyway the fence part is done and I'm on hold while he "gets things ready" for whatever the next project there is but I don't even know if I want to go back, it's horribly obnoxious on top of barely worth the cost of going all the way out there for a few hours a day.
Well rent was made and I have a few bucks to my name while I wait to see what happens with Unemployment or the hall calling potentially any day or week now. I've got another crisis in progress though with my phone always shutting off during calls. It's gotten progressively worse and pretty much does it every single time now, making it impossible for me to try getting any other side work until the hall gets busy again. And it'll really suck when the they call, I'll have to try to keep the conversation short and get job details from the website or call them back on someone else's phone if it does it with them. Needless to say a new phone is at the top of my shopping priorities at the next opportunity.
A nearby house caught fire the other day. I wasn't around but was told it was a big spectacle.
