Flying home tonight, more than ready for this trip to be over. I had the biggest fucking nightmare trying to get back to Naomi's area from Victorville yesterday. That nice commuter bus that used to run between Victorville and the Metrolink station in San Bernardino seems to be no more, so the only ways out of the high desert are Amtrak, which costs an arm and a leg, and Greyhound, which is more fucked up than ever. There's only three Greyhounds a day coming this way from there, one at an ungodly hour in the morning, one at 11:15 am, and one at 6:15 pm. Despite buying a will call ticket online for the 11:15 one it was still sold out when I got there due to them waiting til after they take your money to tell you that you have to check in an hour early to have a spot secured. So I killed some time with Gnatty in the afternoon and came back and waited for the evening bus to come almost an hour-and-a-half late, which caused me to miss the last Metrolink trains and Naomi had to drive 45 minutes out of her way to get me in Riverside.
What a fucking stupid predicament to be in. It should not take all day long and that huge of a hassle just to get somewhere that's just over an hour's drive away. Needless to say I will not be doing Victorville again without a car. Oh god.
I just can't wait to get back home and sleep in my bed again in my underwear for 15 hours and be back in hermit mode for days. This trip has been long and enough is enough.
