Winnie is taking a nap, and I have the chance to update. Things are *coming along* with her I suppose. She now knows: sit, shake and 'other paw'. The housebreaking is a definite task. Her new thing is that she goes to the door *when she wants to* and jumps against the door when she needs/wants to go out. At least it's progressing ( Read more... )

Glad you had a good weekend and things are coming along with the puppy!

Hopefully everything with Brian's grandma will work out okay. I know how much of a pain in your ass she is. Hopefully she will be civil when she comes to visit.

i've caught myself saying things like "i can't wait until winnie is a full grown dog" which is kind of sad, because she'll only be a puppy for a year of her life. Grown dogs are just so much easier to handle.... after the correct training. Are you taking your pup to training?

The good thing about having her come visit here is that we can kick her out of she gets too bad. haha but it should definitely be interesting!

yes, the puppy will be a good excuse to leave the house at random times... and I will definitely use that too my advantage. As long as she doesn't steal my husband while I'm out of the house hahaha. I'm a big sucker for lifetime movies... there's this one called "too close to home". It's ironic how similar that situation is to mine. It's basically about a pyscho mother. In the end she kills her daughter in law.... so it's quite creepy.

I just took Lilly on a six hour car ride and it turned out way better than I thought. But yeah she was not very comfortable in another environment. Suprisingly she had no accidents though.
Glad things are progressing along with Winnie. Puppies are lots of work.
We have to start using the commissary - for now I just go to Walmart - the prices seem pretty reasonable.
Sleeping in till 7:30 - that's funny. :) We sleep in till 9 which I still find incredibly sad.

It's good to hear that it's do-able. I've taken my cat on a 12 hour car ride, and she was fine... but I wasn't sure about how a dog would react. My parents dog (a basset hound) would live in the car if he could. My mom drives him all over, and when she gets out of the car... he won't get out. He's funny.

I liked walmart- until I came to this area. It's always so packed and it takes more time to check out, than the amount of time spent in the store. Do you shop at the one on Mercury?

We're puppy parents now.... sleeping is non-existant =] haha
has lilly started losing teeth yet? when our puppies get all of their shots, we should have a play group.

Ewwww, they lose their teeth? Ahhh. So from that you can tell my answer is no. Lilly has one more set of shots to get in April and then she is done. Currently she plays with her brother about every other day and she met my sister's dog as well. I thought the vet said she was alright after the second set but maybe I'm wrong on that one.
There is a walmart in Yorktown - one of those super big ones. I have never had a problem with lines - they have each register running at certain high flow times. It's a bit of a mad house on weekends but I went to the Norfolk commisary a few times and I noticed the same thing there.
Well she sleeps in our room so she wakes us up at 3 or so to go. I sleep in 4-5 hour intervals...it's lovely :)
What are you guys doing for Easter? I am thinking about buying one of those honey hams or something. I suppose I should look into ordering one - talk about last minute I am.

I think I would avoid her like the plague while she's there. Good that you got out of going to the condo though. Good Job training the puppy! I never had the patients for it. I'm more of a cat person.

I can't stand the commissary I had a lady run me over with her cart and we were the only two people in the asile!! I vote that they should have retiree's day they are the worse when you try to get around them. or the fact that they walk so darn slow most of the time and straight down the middle of the asile so you can't get around and you end up yelling at them since they can't hear you say excuse me. Wow I guess I have some major issues with the commissary. phew sorry for the rant! :)

yes, plague i the perfect word to describe her. *sigh* .... in laws.

I'm more of a cat person too. I always tell my husband how perfect our cat Gracie is. We were going to get another kitten, but my husband wanted a dog so bad. So, we ended up getting the puppy.

retiree's day sounds like a good idea... because it is all of the old people that cause hold ups. I mean, if they can put up with the military for twenty years- then they deserve all of their benefits. How long has your husband been in?

Tim has been in for 9 yrs this year all of which has been out to sea on his boats. He's on #4 with no shore yet. I'm completely over it and am looking forward to some shore time so we can finally see each other. Our time will come eventually ( ... )
