Haha, apriltuna ate the apple jelly neat i.e., spoonfuls as a snack. Apple jelly is good on chicken and pork, but sometimes as a break from regular jam, it's good too! Artistic picture!

My goodness! He must have spent a lot of time at the gym working it off then!!!

What's the difference between a jam and jelly? is it a matter of semantics or something else? I've always thought that a jelly had pectin and less sugar but jam was just boiled fruit in sugar. Do you know?

Thought of you when i took the picture. wanted to show you that your lugging jars of canadian produce was not in vain!!!! Kit was literally shovelling equal parts of mustard and sausage into his gob as quick as he could after I told him we had to ration the mustard. 0_o

I think jelly's sorta more like a sauce you eat with meats (cranberry jelly, mint jelly) whereas jam is the stuff you dump onto bread in the morn!

Therefore, jelly is more wobbly (my thighs and underarms are the most wobbly!) but lighter on the palate since it's meant to accompany something that already has flavour, not overwhelm the neutral flavour of bread.

From http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/question84.htm:

# In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice.
# In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit (and is less stiff than jelly as a result).

I'm glad you're enjoying the food. I'll have a root around to see what else I can find. Let him eat lah! Then dream maple mustard dreams =)

I would like to say that yes, I eat it straight from the jar. Or mixed in plain yoghurt + a shot of maple syrup!

And apple jelly is probably one of the healthier indulgences already lah!!
