IMO Morning rant.
I will be perfectly clear right off the bat. I DO NOT LIKE RAP MUSIC. Now that is not to say that I don' t believe that others who enjoy it should not be allowed to listen to it. I believe people should be allowed to listen to what ever music they prefer at a a decent level when you are in public say in your car waiting for a stop light to go from green to red.
This pisses me off when I have to be subjected to people who blast rap music that contains swearing, duragatory remarks against females, and let's put it this way lyrics (If you want to call them that) that are just plain in bad taste and just awful. I had this experience more than once when I have had small children of young children in the car and their young ears have to be subjected to such obscenities.
Call me a prude - ha I can be, old foaggie - yes I am, bitch - uh huh that too - I don't give a shit. Say that the young will hear that kind of language in their homes on a daily basis and that they have to grow up some time. Well let me say this anyone who can play that kind of stuff loud enough for the whole of hell and creation to hear is the one that needs to grow up. Have some respect for those around you and turn that crap rap down. I know peopl that listen to hard core metal and don't even play it as loud as some with the rap music. How would you like it if I bought a system that would blast Alan Jackson into your eardrums and drowned out what you are playing. Bet that wouldn't be too cool now would it? You would complain about the country bumpkin in the mini van blasting that hill billy crap and drowning out your beats!!!
I don't get it any way. You can't stand on the street corner yelling and screaming obscenities and vulgarities. You would have the cops called on you, be arrested and more then likely be slapped with a pretty stiff fine. Then why WHY??? Do we not pull these overly loud overly obnoxious drivers with thier vulgar music talking vulgarities over and fine them? Why? Do we? Because if we do I have yet to see one pulled over for it.
You know why I am pissed. I just went to the store and on the way I have to go past a school. While waiting for the kids to cross the cross walk there must have been three cars blasting that nonsense in decibels that would rattle tree roots!!!! HOW RUDE!! If anything when you are driving by a school or pulling up to a light - TURN IT DOWN!!!
Blast it as loud as you want on the open highway. Drive the back roads and make the cows dance just turn it down in school zones, residential areas, parking lots, places where cars have to sit and wait stop lights, cross walks.
It is just plain decency. What ever happen to just being decent?
