I am finding the start of my 30's to be both scary and exhilerating. My calendar is getting booked months in advance for cakes and that is both thrilling and intimidating. People are entrusting me with their cakes for their special moments. So far, 3 weddings and a couple birthdays....it amazes me

I'm glad that you are finding your confidence and comfort in your talent...it's a fine thing to have confidence and comfort in the thing that is your passion. :o)

you'd prolly really enjoy the salty caramel cake I make. It's AWESOMENESS!
And when you add a layer of chocolate cake to it, it's like having a caramel and chocolate covered pretzel...but without the pretzel ;)

My Great Grandma hand-wrote a recipe book...inside of an old farm machinery book...it's freaking priceless...let me see if her cake recipe is in there...it may or may not be...it's sort of a hit and miss "recipe book" as she very rarely used recipes!

Let me know if you want it, and let me know if you find that recipe...and even if you don't find that one, and hit a couple gold mines in that book and want to share, I'm ALWAYS up for new cake stuff! And if told to guard with my life, I will NOT divulge recipes.

I looked through Memo's handwritten recipes, and I'll share what I found...several applesauce cake recipes, and one chopped apple cake recipe...also some other interesting stuff...and some pretty yummy sounding icings...Gimme some time...one day this show that I'm in (that I'm not even very fond of) will be over, and my life *might* be my own for a few minutes!
