Only 50?
So this morning, day off, I once again walked to the mountain and went skiing.
I went by the scanners and out of habit, I ask "How many days?" (A common question to scanners, who can look at your info and tell you how many days you've ski'd)
"Oh! You hit 50 today!"
That seemed low to me when I, very rudely, took the scanner out of one of their hands to confirm what had been said. I went into my pass details...
Keystone: 48 days
A-Basin: 2 days
By my count, there has been about 75 days gone this season. How am i only at 50? I'm trying real hard to figure this out. Maybe I didn't get scanned on some of the days I've worked? (Any day I work, I get at least 1 run in, so they count)
Wait... so it's been over 10 weeks... I get in 4 days of work a week... that should be 40 right there... and I usually ski on 2 of my 3 days off a week... so there's another 20... but I guess I skipped a couple Thursdays...
BUT IT SHOULD STILL BE MORE THAN 50!!
Ah, whatever. I still have all of February, all of March, and half of April... plus another few weeks maybe at A-Basin, that stays open well into May, sometimes June.
But still, I gotta pick it up to beat my 115-day record I set during the 06-07 season.
I also need to get to Breck, Vail, and Beaver Creek sometime soon. Last season, living a 15-minute drive from the mountain hurt my motivation to get to Keystone, yet, I was closer to the highway, so I could get to those other mountains easier. Now that I live a short walk from Keystone, I don't seem motivated to go anywhere else. Which isn't horrible, cuz I love this mountain. But I really want to get to BC a few times before the end of season. And Kristen, Schmirller, and Ian are all bragging about how often they go to Vail and how awesome the snow there has been. Anne, who's now snow grooming at Breck, says things have been pretty steezy over there, too. I'll need to get to those places in the next couple weeks, won't I?

I've been re-visiting the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series (26 episodes, 2 movies [not including the 4 revision movies], manga currently at 11 volumes and still going) lately.
I'm pretty sure Kaworu is Jesus.
...Funimation better get out the "revision" movies out... SOON!!!

I'm not an optimist. I plan for the worse, and things usually end up worse than that.
But daggit...
2009 WILL BE THE YEAR OF THE SHOE!!!
And if it's not, 2010 will be the year of Paul kills puppies.
