Summer Part 1

Jun 17, 2009 03:24

Got Damn.

So this is my first summer off in like 4 years. And it just so happens to be the best summer ever. I am not sure how I want to divide this post, but I just know that I have A LOT to post. So here goes:

June:

Tue, 2 - Taking Back Sunday @ Jimmy Kimmel Live with Rick, Baja Fresh, Beard Papa's, broken sunglasses, new sunglasses

Wed, 3 - Taking Back Sunday & Anberlin @ The Grove in Anaheim with Lisa and Jay, Kabuki dinner with the gang

Okay, and onto newer stuff:

Fri, 5 - Hung out with Jenns @ Main Place Mall, got a hazelnut iced coffee at Coffee Bean, Band Banquet @ Garden Grove High School with Lisa, Monica, Van, and Troy. Michelle's birthday after-dinner @ The District in Orange. Crappy band played a bunch of old school tunes. Some weird dvd was playing, Lidsville: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDQyqM7HIDw

Sat, 6 - Worked from 11-7:30 @ Staples then watched Up in 3D with Monica, Van, and Lisa. Then went to Gonzo's after with Lisa and Van.

Okay, and now for genuinely new stuff:

Sun, 7 - Had dinner with my Grandma and Andrew, Rick, Suze, and my brother @ some Asian resturant down Bolsa.

Mon, 8 - Bummed around all day, ran 4 laps around my house/park with my mom, then had crepes with Monica @ Genki Living. Watched Magician's Secrets Revealed.. looked away at the last moment and missed how the trick was done.

Tue, 9 - Watched The Hangover with Monica

Very funny movie, I forgot how funny Zach Galifianakis is. He pretty much carried the movie the whole way through. Still not as good as I Love You, Man though.
Rating: 80/100

Wed, 10 - My cousin Nina's family birthday celebration @ some Korean resturant down Garden Grove Blvd. It was delicious. I got some Ramune and Pocky that day from the A.R. Market.

Thu, 11 - Had my Language and Brain final lol. Said bye to UCI.. for the summer. Felt good, man. At night, went Fullerton bar hopping with Lisa, Chris, Van, and Andybear starting @ Cantina Las Adelitas, but ended up calling it quits after seeing all the ridic entrance fees paired with expensive drinks. Played beer pong @ Chris' till 3am. I played significantly better than the only other time I played before. Every time Lisa would make a shot, I'd rebut her. I will buy cups and balls to practice with at home. When I dropped Andy off at his place, I got lost in his complex. I decided to just circle the perimeter until I would see an exit. It took like 15 minutes :/

Fri, 12 - Took my laptop apart. For some reason, my wireless card just stopped reading altogether. The light stays red no matter what.. meaning it's probably a hardware issue. I found a tutorial online and took the entire laptop apart.. and I mean all 50 screws out, motherboard exposed kind of out, nah mean? Here's a pic:

The whole procedure of taking it apart and putting it back together took about 4 hours. I didn't fix the wireless, but I learned a fuckton about laptops in general. I'm glad I did it, despite the misaligned edges on parts of the lappy :/ I decided that I'll send it to HP to have them fix it after all, considering I still have it under Superior Costco Warranty. Also, my favorite cripple-turned-rapper-singer-model Drizzy Drake, the savior of hip-hop, made his TV debut on The Tonight Show with Conan O'brien on this night as Jamie Foxx's guest rapper, taking the place of Kanye West in the song "Digital Girl."

Sat, 13 - Worked @ Staples from 11-7:30, per usual. Man, our hours got cut so much by our black district manager. She gives us less than 400 hours a week. On Saturday, it was just me, Ken, and Maria closing. Isn't that crazy?! Being dealt such a shitty hand, I decided to steal a 16gb SD card and also take an hour lunch @ El Pollo Loco. It wasn't horribly disgusting this time. I may eat it like once a year, but I still don't prefer it over an other chicken place. The things that made it ethnic, were all fail: salsa, rice, generic chicken. After work, me and Van went with Lisa to Riverside to spend the night, because we didn't want to drive out in the morning. I got some Santana's for dinner: a deliciously fat California burrito. When it came time to sleep, we had the hardest time. It was just awkward trying to be quiet. Apparently I fell asleep first, and snored a lot. I think it was the Riverside air. It fucked up my sinuses for another day after.

Sun, 14 - WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH! Lisa's Sociology graduation! We woke up at the crack of dawn that morning. Chris and Monica just drove in from Vegas and they hadn't slept in days. It was a good day though--the first person in our group to graduate! We took so many pictures. I will make a seperate post about those pictures, I swear! After graduation pictures, me, Jeff, Chris, and Van went to grab McDonald's breakfast for ourselves and everyone else that headed back to Lisa's. I had never seen such confused-monkey-service in my life. There were 12 people behind the counter and like nobody at the register. It felt like the person that was taking orders went ahead and cooked the food, wrapped it, then served it all themselves. It took literally 20 minutes to get my food, I'm not even lying. Workers were all cramped and bumping into eachother. It makes me mad just to think about it. Anyway, we went back to Lisa's and Jay came over to snap quick pictures of everyone before he went to work. A little later, we all headed out to eat @ Seafood Paradise. A bunch of Lisa's family was there, along with a grip of friends. It was really cool. We made Lisa make a toast, and it was wonderful. After eating, we all went home and slept through the Lakers game haha. Fucking low-class Laker fans rioting and looting in the streets. I'd love to see them all just get mowed down with machine guns. What the fuck are the Lakers supposed to say about their fans?

Mon, 15 - Hung out @ Dave & Buster's because Cathy was in town. Real Nigga Role Call: Me, Van, Chris, Amanda, Lisa, Monica, Michelle, Cathy, Mike, Troy, Crystal, Dax, Dax's friend, Angela, and Kevin. After everyone got there, and it wasn't so awkward, it was really fun. I lurv the Trivia game. Sometimes, it's really easy, and sometimes really hard. Just the luck of the spin! One of the questions asked who performed Regulators... Haha.. REGULATORRRRS MOUNT UP. One of the best hip-hop songs in history. After D&B's, I went home and saw the white guys playing roller hockey in the Coastline parking lot. Me, Monica, and Chris hung out with them for awhile before I took Chris home.

Tuesday, 16 - Woke up early to visit my dad's family @ Monterey Park. It was my brother's and my grandpa's birthday. I gave my brother $100 and my grandpa a fancy electric razor. We ate at some Chinese resturant down there. It was very classy, with a red, black, and gold theme. The clouds painted on the walls looked like the smoke in Wind Waker. After lunch, we went back to my grandparent's place and me and Michael played with our younger cousins, Kevin and Emily. We played handball against a garage wall.. just like we did when we were young. After, we had delicious coffee cake, we came back home. Monica came over and we went to Gya-kaku together for Lisa and Soomee's dinner. Real Nigga Role Call: Me, Lisa, Amanda, Chris, Andi, Thanh, Monica, Soomee, Van, Jeff, Vanessa and her 2 sisters(?), Nhan, Wes, Mike, Phillip.. I feel like I'm missing some people. I'll edit this later if that's the case. The resturant was so good. You order what you want, then cook it on the grill yourself. I ate a grip and only spent 20 bucks, because there's student discount right now. Will def go back soon. When we got outside, we all took dat ass pictures and other sweet bro pics. About half of the people went home, and the rest of us went to this park by Andi's house. It was on Promenade Park off Gothard in Huntington. The park was so crazy. There was a huge swingset with 4 adult swings and 2 kid swings. There was a huge structure with 3 stories, like those walk through things at the Strawberry Festival. There were rocking spring horses, there were 2 seperate truck things that you can climb in/on/about. There was tic-tac-toe boards, there was a rock climb, there was just so much shit there, period. Best park ever award. It was better than an elementary school. We took tons of great pictures here and had so many fucking fun moments. Thanh tried to climb up a tube slide and fell down. Then John said he'd climb a tiny slide that was about 6 feet long, and slipped and fell on his face on his first step. There were so many funny moments, I wish I could just store it in my memory. After awhile, the cops ended up coming and questioned us for a bit. Apaprently, a lot of kids come and mess around at the parks and keep the neighbors awake at night. It was only like 12 though! The cop was confused when we told him we were all 20, 21, 22. He just told us to get out of there after he left. I can't wait to post pics of this later. It was the most fun I'd had in a long time.
