Tattoo on my mind

Mar 16, 2008 10:33

Last week we've re-subscribed to cable TV. And I'm lovin' Miami Ink. Maybe a few more episodes and I'd be heading to that tattoo artist where my twinster got her beatiful tattoos done. Well, just maybe. I still haven't gotten past the thought of how it would look when I'm old and wrinkly like a prune. :P And I still haven't really made up my mind on the design.

Still got a lot of movies and series to watch, and cable isn't helping any. Things at work are looking up; we've managed to overcome a nasty hurdle and I'm thankful that my colleagues are a resilient bunch. :)

Was invited to a lovely and sumptuous four-course dinner at Cafe Ysabel last night, courtesy of a former boss who's leaving for Nepal. He's such a cool Dutch. The best non-Filipino boss I've ever had. :D Bon voyage to him and congratulations! *wink*

I don't know why, but this weekend seemed to have rejuvenated me. I feel ready to face the week ahead. I guess it helps knowing that we only have three work days. Come to think of it, I also know that I would be bringing home some documentation work. Ugh. That's my least favorite thing about my job.

I was looking at our bookshelf and did a quick inventory of the new stuff. I know I resolved not buy any more books before I finish reading at least three. But how can one resist book sales?! Since November last year, we've acquired the following (and I haven't read any of them yet as I'm still preoccupied with Lucifer):

Hard-Boiled and Hard Luck by Banana Yoshimoto
An Acceptable Time by Madelein L'engle
Pet Peeve by Piers Anthony
Umberto Eco on Literature by Umberto Eco
The Theatre Omnibus by P.G. Wodehouse
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling
The Twilight Zone: The Original Stories
The Furthest Horizon (a collection of science fantasy short stories)
Plage Wars by Tom Mangold and Jeff Goldberg
Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake (the odd-one-out because it's a gift from Mikah and Joelle)

I swear, book-buying is a disease.

tattoo, books, work
