Confused about the mail-in ballot...

Oct 21, 2008 23:35

So I was watching Rachel Maddow tonight and RFK Jr. says that you shouldn't mail in your vote. Yet, here in Colorado, our Democratic Governor & Congressman and the Obama campaign are encouraging people to sign up for the mail-in ballot. The whole reason I signed up for mail-in was because the Obama campaign guy strongly encouraged me to, as well as my husband and Evan (the eldest son, who just turned 19. His voter reg just showed up in the system on Sunday.) Sooo... what gives? I have a hard time believing that Bill Ritter, Mark Udall and whoever that guy was at the Thornton Obama office are in on the Republican efforts to disenfranchise Democrats.

The kitchen faucet is working again, complete with being able to use the pull-out, so I can have the thrill of hand washing ALL my dishes. I don't really mind the actual washing of the dishes by hand, but it does a number on my eczema. I've tried gloves before, but it doesn't help-- the soapy water invariably gets down into the gloves and it ends up irritating my skin even worse than just doing it barehanded. And there are just so many of them-- when the dishwasher was working I'd normally do two fully packed loads a day. I think I spent at least an hour and a half washing last night, although that was a several day backlog. And the only drying rack I have is... the dishwasher. I have to be careful because it isn't anchored to the cabinet at the moment, and I almost tipped it over once already, since I'm used to being able to slide out both racks while full of dishes.
