it's still completely surreal to me to be here, living in a place i had
only heard about. mostly, it's hot and crowded. i'm not taking
advantage of much of the 'scene' and the good restaurants, and
everything costs too much money. more on all this later. it's going to
be an interesting summer, if nothing else.
the work part is actually a lot easier to adjust to. all the news
service people are very nice and the office environment is nice. i
don't get my own desk because the established ones are reserved for the
people who have been there the longest, so i have to switch every day.
that just means i don't have a place to put my visual dictionary. sad.
i've already edited a bunch of stories, more than the metro or national
editors do in several nights. now i have to figure out a way to get
clips to send to dr. trayes from bootcamp. oh, dr. trayes. i do hope
he's having a lovely time at his summer home in martha's vineyard.
jerk. hope he packed his visor-- "no!" -- green eye shade.
