Remiss

I have been most tardy in updating this mediocrity fest, so let me fill you in on what's been going on chez-shocked. I have just returned from Limerick, where I had a delightful weekend of DVDs, BBQ, drunkenness, dancing, Karting, more DVDs and then the misery of 7 hours home on Bus Eireann on Tuesday. Bored now*.

Saturday saw a lovely BBQ in honour of Nicy's birthday, which she hosted in her sister's vacant house (she's swanning around the world for 6 months, current location New Zealand I think, bitch). High point for me was assembling a barbecue, using a screwdriver and a pliers! It's been a while since I felt quite so manly, grrr and all that.

Bring on the painting of houses, I could do it with my eyes closed (although presumably the results wouldn't be great...)

Boogying was carried out in Limerick's finest, the Trinity Rooms. I was mildly impressed by the decor (picture apparently unavailable on Google Images), but despaired at the Dublin drink prices. Bah.

Of the varioous DVDs perused over the weekend, favourite was probably "Igby goes down"

A strange movie, but cool. Nicy and Katie weren't really feeling it, but I liked it's quirkiness.

I must go to bed- the exercise of democracy awaits in the morning!

*Although the bus trip was enlivened somewhat by the boarding of the omnibus of a veritable gaggle of Ireland's finest teenagers who, upon spying me sitting on my own wearing my cord blazer and coordinated ensemble (tied together by the colour yellow), commented "Look at the poof", and then alternately whispered and spoke quite loudly comments about me to each other. Delightful. Living in provincial Ireland is such a dleightfully welcoming experience for minorities. How I got through secondary school sans a self-harm episode is beyond me....
