Hello friends. Since livejournal has been banned at work, I think I have posted maybe once. It is just impossible to get to at home.
Even now, I am checking in quickly before going into the office, but wanted to say that I hope to get back to posting soon.
In the space since my last posting - I got offered another job with USAID here in Peru but as a contractor, so I am quitting the foreign service to stay here. No, not an easy decision. I have my apartment now, starting to furnish it gradually. We'll move in when I finish my foreign service assignment in early december. I'm not sure it's the right decision, but for some reason I just really want to stay put, put down roots, and build a life in one place, yet still live overseas and work in development. For most people that wouldn't seem scandalous or unusual, for the foreign service crowd it's like admitting you have leprosy. Luckily my mom has confirmed I can move in with her if everything goes bust.
Enzo is doing well, happy as a clam most of the time. School is going great but I am already a day late with a final paper that I haven't really started yet, so no news there. One day I will shock the world by finishing an assignment early, and when I turn it in the entire universe just may come to a halt, the poles may reverse, and we will all get sucked into a giant black hole. So if you experience any of those phenomenons, you'll know that I finally got my academic act together.
