Nutshells

Well Happy New Year, journal!

Let's see.  What's new since the last time I wrote in here?
  • My computer became infected by shitloads of viruses in late November.  I was just learning to live with it when my internet got shut down by my provider because apparently the viruses were sending them thousands of spam emails.  So I had to take it to a computer place to get all the viruses taken away.  It was there for TWO WEEKS.  Complications arose and now I have Windows XP instead of Windows 7, and I haven't been able to update my webcomic since (the software I use is incompatible with XP).  Why is it that every year something goes wrong with my computer?  Grr.  Anyway, Ben is coming over on Wednesday to help me reinstall everything.  So yay for that!
  • I'm going to Melbourne on Thursday so I can go to Heather and Mike's engagement party!  I'm flying on the most no-frills airline possible, so hopefully it doesn't explode in mid-air.  I've heard the seats are made of plastic.  I was joking with Jade that they'll probably make us use duct tape instead of seat-belts.  I'm looking forward to it but at the same time I'm still really nervous about being early and late and whatnot.  I'm only going to be there for two nights, but it'll be great to see Heather again and meet her Prince Charming in person.
  • Dad went to Brazil for a few weeks but now he's back.  I went three weeks without chopping any Garlic.  Whenever Dad comes home he always wants us to chop garlic for something.  Since we're from Brazil, almost everything we eat has garlic in it.
  • I went on my yearly camping trip with friends.  It was probably the most uneventful trip we've ever had, but I still had a decent time.  There was this awesome giant bouncy thing that we got to jump on.  There are pictures on Facebook.  What more is there to say?  We went swimming in the pool, went to Port Pirie for a few hours, played Uno and raced pedal Go-karts.  I missed having Sarah there, but Jade was actually a pretty excellent tent-mate.  I figured that after three hours in the same living space that we'd want to kill each other (I'm really really anal about letting mosquitos and dirt into the tent and she's pretty laid back), but it actually worked out really well!  At one point our tent almost flew away though.  Yeah.
  • As for friends and such, here's all I can think of that I haven't written here already.  Jamie and Kristie broke up but are sort of trying to work things out.  Spek was friends with benefits with Kelly (a friend I knew from primary school) but it didn't work out either.  Ben is seeing this awesome girl called Lauren who is really funny and nice.  Jiffy got accepted into the Airforce and is going to Wagga Wagga in the next few months.  Hissey got a new job working with Jamie.  Sarah officially graduated from Uni a few weeks ago and threw an awesome Christmas party with the BEST FOOD EVER that was really really fun.  Jade has a thing for a guy who works at Off Ya Tree.  Louise has been working like a Japanese Beaver and has apparently only had three or so days off during this entire holiday season.  I hope she's okay.  Britt and I participated in a Beauty And The Beast flashmob in Rundle Mall a few weeks ago where we danced and sang to 'Belle', the first song in the movie.  It went pretty well but the mall was really loud so it was hard to hear the solo parts.  Apart from that, it was great.  She was also part of an awesome Burlesque performance that I couldn't go to since I was at camp.  I totally wish I could've gone though!
  • Yesterday I found out that I put on two kilos during the holiday season on top of the kilo I put on a few weeks ago, bringing me back to my original weight from around a year and a half ago!  That really sucks but I'm going on another health kick that this time is here to STAY.  I'm on a new nine-week programme called Couch To 5K.  It's an iphone app that trains you so that by the end of nine weeks you'll be able to run for 5Ks without stopping.  So far I'm loving it!!  I'm definitely doing it.
Aaaaaand that's everything in a nutshell!
