Yes. I have nothing better to do at 2am on a Friday night to be on livejournal talking about Glee. Pity me, people.
Around an hour ago I found this really great Glee website (which is here
http://gleewiki.fox.com/). It's got up to date news and all sorts of fan-made shipping pages. Man I remember shipping websites. Looking at these ones makes me feel like a lame teenager again. I found out that the two most popular pairings in Glee are Will and Emma (that's a given) and strangely enough Rachel and Puck. It's called "Puckleberry" shipping. Puck is a huge douche though and his hair looks like a vagina. WTF?
Personally my all time I-wish-this-would-happen-but-it-never-would-because-Finn-isn't-gay pairing is Kurt and Finn. One of my favourite episodes is where Kurt gets paired with Finn to do a ballad and Finn doesn't realise that Kurt is completely crazy about him, and completely misses the point where he actually tries to tell him how he feels. It's really cute but really sad at the same time. Oh well. Apparently Kurt gets a boyfriend in the second half of season one. ^_^
I seriously love Glee, even though it does have a couple of problems. I think its biggest flaw is that alot of their songs are really overproduced (aka they sound like they've come straight from a studio - the Acafellas episode was the WORST) and there have been a few scenes in a handfull of episodes where they sing something to basically fill up time. Songs like Hate on Me, Bust Your Windows, Ride With Me, Smile (the Lily Allen version) and Gold Digger were all filler songs with no real relevance to the plot.
But when it gets it right, it gets it right. Some of the musical sequences (when relevant to the plot) are undeniably awesome. I think I've watched Rachel's version of "Don't Rain On My Parade" so many times now I've lost count. And the "Endless Love" duet between Rachel and Mr Shue cracks me up every time I watch it. Plus you've just got to love the characters. Rachel is endearing as the in-your-face misfit who doesn't really know how to be sociable without irritating everyone. Finn is a loveable doofus who is kind hearted but really naive and gullible. Kurt is just awesome. Sue is hilarious. I could go on all night, but I should probably sleep at some point.
When Barbie and I started to watch the show, mum would always be hovering around the TV room but she'd never actually sit down and watch. But by the last few episodes she was definitely into it and trying not to let us know it. By the mid-season finale she was as hooked as we were, and all three of us were squealing at the TV when our favourite couple got together. Yay!
As if I have to wait until April for more episodes! Curse you producers! Curse yoooooooooooou!
