Graduation!
As we gooo oooooon we remeeeeembeeeeeer
Eh screw it.
So I graduated from Uni yesterday. Hoorah! I rented my academic dress the previous day and we went to go pick up Jade from her boyfriend's house. Then dad dropped us off (because the ceremony wasn't for like another two hours), we registered and then bummed around the campus either putting on mascara or taking photos. We took alot of fun photos near the trees and other people started going "Hey those trees look like good backgrounds" and did the same.
When the actual ceremony came round it really wasn't as boring as I thought it would be. Maybe it's because there were only like a hundred people graduating that day. Well, maybe around two hundred. Not nearly as many as there were at Dad's uni when he graduated. Also, I was in the first batch of people to go on. Woo!
It just felt really good hearing my name called, walking across the stage to a huge applause, shaking the chancellor's hand and recieving the certificate and having her say "Congratulations!" like she meant it. It sounds stupid but I felt like I actually achieved something. That and everyone was saying "congratulations!" to me after that. Oh but I kinda forgot to tip my hat slightly when I went up but oh well. I was happy and in the moment. ^_^ Jade came on during the next batch and I made sure to cheer out when she went on. And a few batches later Kristen from my work came on! Her hair looked gorgeous.
We caught up outside and we're all "OMG I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE GRADUATING TODAY ME EITHER ISN'T THIS WEIRD YEAH I KNOW HAHAHALOL" and then I found my parents and my sister and took LOADS of obligatory photos. And I mean loads. About half of them didn't make it onto facebook because they weren't very well-taken.
So after that Jade and I went to return our academic gear and went back to my house where we bummed around and watched Juno and The Simpsons. Yay! Good times. :)
