Diary of a Showgirl: Day One

Sep 08, 2007 07:33

Well yesterday was my first day working at the Royal Adelaide Show as a random Showbag sales person. I'm working on the second stand of the two Cartoon Collection stands, so if anyone's at the show drop by and say hi. It's been really great so far. Everyone's been cheerful and the little kids have all been adorable and none of them little shits. There was this one little girl who was so happy to get a Saddle Club showbag. It was so adorable. She was all "SADDLE CLUB SADDLE CLUB SADDLE CLUB!!"

I have seen parents walking around with about twenty showbags on each arm though. I remember being really jealous of all those kids who got like fifty showbags (I only ever got one) but now I kinda feel sorry for them.

Oh and after yesterday's thirteen hour shift my FEET WERE KILLING ME. And this morning I'm starting at nine. Hopefully my feet will be used to it by now.

Oh and I had a really weird dream last night.
I dreamt that Sarah and I had to solve the mystery of the location of Sarah's missing older relatives. My memory had been wiped clean by an enemy agent, but I vaguely remember taping some information onto my phone before I lost my memory. So all we had was my mobile phone to solve the case, and there were a bunch of videos on there that'd help us although I kept insisting that we only watch them when we HAD to, because I knew the last video was of me and I wasn't sure whether it was incriminating.
We were all out at the docks and for some reason Peter (a really friendly guy from my screen tute who kinda looks like Jesus) was there, and he seemed to be always there at the docks. Then one of Sarah's older relatives showed up in the mist, and all these eastern european troops showed up (I've been writing essays on the cold war) and pointed their guns at the woman. The man then pointed his gun at the woman too. And she was all "it was you?" but he ended up getting shot before he shot her and loads of people got shot.
After all that we watched the last video on my phone which was me explaining everything that had happened and saying sorry for not being able to remember. Then I remembered that Peter had been at the docks and freaked out, but when I ran back there he was still there with no memory of what had happened. He was really weirded out at how hysterical I was. And then I think Sarah and I got pinha colladas to celebrate and sat down in different coloured hammocks, and I think I was about to go to sleep when my alarm went off. Weeeeeird.

dream, show, work
