Debut!

Jul 12, 2011 01:29

I'm going to be on the radio tomorrow (well, today, technically - Tuesday)! My friend Nancy has a new radio show on CSJR called The Laughing Face, and every week, she has a new theme and guest co-host. This week's theme is "home", and she asked if I had any song suggestions. I'm excited to see she has selected at least six songs I've chosen (I haven't seen the finalised playlist yet), including Village Green Preservation Society by Kate Rusby and London Still by The Waifs. justen and laurakirsten, you guys should check them out, respectively.

I'm nervous and very excited! Tune in tomorrow between 1-2p MST! You can stream live from CJSR's site, or check out The Laughing Face's tumblr for podcast info.

I'm still unemployed. I've still been job hunting (the energetic spurts come and go, but I haven't stopped looking), and have applied for pretty much anything I might be qualified for, but still no luck. :\ The temp agency had one acceptable position for me (the rest were inaccessible by transit), but they needed someone throughout the time I'll be gone to Newfoundland. Poo.

Clem's been working longer shifts, which is a bummer when he's gone, but nice when he gets the extra days off (8 days on, 6 days off). We've been watching marathons of Simpsons and the original Iron Chef ("Iron Chefuuu!"), and trying to get off our lazy butts by walking, checking out all the Edmonton summer festivals, and cooking more.

Amanda's back from B.C., so I'm hoping to check out the street performer's festival, as well as the last Harry Potter movie, with her and Kevin sometime this week. I'm also planning to get some headway on two design projects before I leave next Monday: a logo for a movie production company, and the poster for David's upcoming Fringe show.

Once I get back from Newfoundland, I might post my 365 Challenge photos, as that'll be the halfway point for me. We'll see! I keep debating whether to post them in chunks, or all in one go at the end!

Oh, and a quick update from my last post: Phoebe has been happy (or at least, her normal grumpy self) and healthy. So relieved. My mom has kindly agreed to come to Edmonton while I'm in Newfoundland to watch my cats and Dylan's dog (he and Tasha will be in Calgary for the folk fest). <3 Luckily we live very close to each other, so Mom and Jim will just check in on my cats once or twice a day, and stay at Dylan's.

Can't wait, one more week!! Hope everyone's doing well. :)
